  1. Congradulations, Glad to know you are thinking about your band. The band needs the brain to work its wonders too. I used to use my exercise time to think about what I was doing, what I was going to do and then dream about the future me. edie
  2. OMG People who complain when a store changes drive me crazy. My husband and I change the arrangement of our furniture every month. We joke that we should have wheels on it. Our friends are always surprised and we are amused that they act like it is not normal. We say having the couch in the same place for 15 years is not normal. edie
  3. Nani, My highest weight was 276 and that area did go back to normal size. I think it would depend on where you carry your weight I do have a small apron. Thank goodness small enought not to cause me any health problems. edie
  4. My start of regular food was scambled eggs for Breakfast and tuna fish with all the fixins for lunch. I added ANY soups I wanted. Then I added crisp bacon with my eggs. I started nibbling on what I would cook for hubby . I think the key for regular foods is SLOW and SMALL bites . Before you take another bite see how the first little bites feels. edie
  5. Dylan and dear wife, You will love the band. You still eat but get full. My maintanance has been very easy too. In fact I am having a problem getting in enough food. It is the last thing on my mind. I am so active now too. Burning so many more calories than before. I think before I only felt full at holiday meals. I was always thinking about what I could eat next any other time. edie

Don't read this if you don't want to know who is up for nominations. I started watching my live feed from last night and Danielle has put up Jen and Kail of course. The twist is she has promised to get Jen off and whe wants to back door someone. She wouldn't tell JeN who. Even Kail says if she gets veto power she will take Jen off. Haven't seen what Dick thinks about this. Hubby has nascar/xgames on. The house knows about the airplane. Dick called out Eric about being a liar. Didn't hear anything about cry baby being pointed at for the same thing. It was sort of sickening seeing Dan planning with Jen. I thought she hated Jen for calling her a whore twice. Once for breaking up her current boyfriend and his previous girlfriend. 2nd for kissing Nick. I did hear her say Nick was a strategy while he was there for her. Ha. She is also walking around all real HAPPY and acting like she OWNS the place and in charge of what everyone does. Talk about letting power go to your head. edie

I am so tired of Amber saying I haven't lied to anyone. She has. She even admitted to Nick on her goodbye message to him. She admitted to him that she did know he was going, she was sorry she lied, she loved him... blah blah. Also Dick on Showtime told Jen she has cellulite on her ass and that is why she walked 10 miles on the treadmill each day. She says she knows she has it. I think Danielle is such a brat. edie
  8. My vote is for calories and exercise. I know you don't want to hear exercise but GET REAL. edie
  9. I started walking my 1/2 mile around 35 minutes 7 days after surgery. edie
  10. Well you teach yourself some lessons with eating too fast. The pain. It feels like heartburn. That slows you down. The eating too much does too. You learn how much portion of different kinds of food you can eat. It changes all thru the process. edie
  11. I think a bump is when you want to thread to go to the top of this list. I have brought up a thread before. Posted to it . Then when you look at todays posts the thread is at the top of the list. You have bumped it to the top of the list. edie
  12. I ate sf popsicles for my latenight Snacks. I mean how many can you eat? The most for me was 4 for I think 120 calories. edie
  13. The liquid stage was the HARDEST thing I ever did in my life. The Hardest. edie

  15. When I first had the band last summer . I told everyone who asks , if a person is not ready to give up eating 4 pieces of chicken they are NOT ready to get a band. I hope that it a clear meaning to us overeaters. edie
  16. I tried to capitilize all my letters and it won't let me yell!! edie

  18. I finished listening to "Hannibal" on audio book a few days ago. Strong content . Hard to listen to sometimes. I enjoyed it. If you like horror this one is a good one. edie
  19. I think the big reason for not drinking is if you don't the food will stay in you little tummy longer and make you feel full longer. edie
  20. I did commit myself to 30 minutes of exercise 6 weeks before surgery. Then I had the surgery. The band let me get that full feeling. I was always a bottomless pit. The full feeling let me eat less. I lost weight. Losing weight made it easier for me to exercise and that let to me exercising more. More exercising led to more weight loss. Exercising felt good and and made me feel powerful and healthy. It was a domino effect for me. band + less food + more exercise = lifestyle change edie
  21. OMG. This thread makes me want to get real mean with the idiot who started it. I will be nice. edie
  22. I had a 10 liquid diet before surg and 5 days afterwards. They are people here that were required to lose weight before surgery. Hopefully they will respond to us. good luck, edie
  23. My favorite interest in my life is music. In 1974 at age 14 I had been trying to find my misic path with Stevie Wonder and had discovered Elton John. When my boyfreind brought over Aerosmith's "TOYS IN THE ATTIC", it changed my life. This was an 8 track of "Toys" too. LOL Please share with me an example of what you had been listening to then what knocked you over . I would love to read any stories about your seeing the light in your music tastes. I have "Toys in the Attic" in my ipod 30 years later!! Rock on, edie
  24. I guess it sort of is a excuse, as in before post, I usually just say I am not hungry. When friends, neighbors say let me get you something , how about.... . I just say I am not hungry but thanks. I am from the South and eating is a big hospitality thing. As in before post, food is just something I do each day like washing my hair. It has been wonderful to take the pressure off of "feeding" (lol) this addiction. It took a lot of time and money and embarrassment of going into the stores and carring out junk food. I knew whoever checked me out was thinking..... she NEEDS that . edie
  25. Oh it is so exciting. I was so happy after the seminar. It made such good sense and a cure for my addiction. I was so happy to tell my hubby about it. He read all about it and agreed with me. I went to the seminar in May 06 and was banded July 06. I will always side with the obese team but it is sure fun to "look" like I'm on the other team. My health was my concern and this "looking" is such a bonus!!!!! edie
