Do you eat ice?

My dr insructed me to not eat ice. I am a huge ice chomper. I probably get alot of my liquid intake from eating ice. THe dr said it can cause painful gas and burping. I have been eating it and it hasn't bothered me. Has anyone else dealt with this and their dr.

Never heard of that. I have only recently been banded (just over 2wks ago) but I've not had problems that I've noticed. Hopefully a more experienced Bandster can speak to this.

I have never heard that rule. I don't chomp ice often because it bothers my teeth, but on a good day when it doesn't bug my teeth I'll chomp ice if I got it with a beverage or something. It's never caused me an issue...

I have never heard the "no ice rule" and I eat it frequently. It's never bothered me and I had my surgery 2 1/2 months ago. Also, like was asked in another post..I drink with a straw all the time with no problems.

Cold things make some people's bands contract. Other people find it soothing on an upset band.

I say do what feels right to you. If you feel fine chomping, chomp away!
