  1. Each doctor also has different fill patterns. Some may start with only .5cc while others start with 1.5cc. My dr says typically in a 4cc band most people feel good restriction around 2cc.
  2. bump bump bump
  3. I'll tell you what made me go for it. Yes i could work hard and lose the weight, but i didn't want to spend the rest of my life gaining and losing. i wanted a permanent solution. The truth is with the band you still have to work at it but you have a tool that helps you out when you are weak. Iam almost 6mos out now and i have lost 50 lbs. i still eat pretty much what i want but i try to make healthier choices and always eat my protein first. I usually get full before i can move on to anything else. i try to exercise at least 3x a week. I lose alot slower if i don't, not to mention it will help things tighten back up. I don't regret having the surgery at all. well occassionally i get frustrated when i want to eat more and i can't but that is what ithe band is there for. Good luck!

I read where some wanted some new topics to debate, so here ya go. Tell us your thoughts. Does the government have the right to restrict gun possession? I personally feel there should be stiffer restrictions but we as americans should have the right to bear arms.
  5. I get this this weird kind of pressure and tingling on my left side periodically through the day. It almost kind of feels like when your pregnant and the baby is pushing or kicking on one spot. It is kind of close to my port but lower and more on my side. It usually happens when i am sitting and if i lay back it stops. Could it be the tubing going were it shouldn't be. Has anyone else experienced this? It isn't really painful but it is getting really annoying. I am my dr 2nd band patient so i don't feel like he'll know what it is. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!
  6. Zen- i was banded on 3/30/07, so we are kind of at the same point. i got my fourth fill aug. 23 with a total of 2.3cc (I think) and i still didn't have great resrtriction. But a week and a half later the restriction came and i finally know what good resrtiction is. it's made a big difference. I also notice that if i am not working out at least 3x a week i lose really slow. (Like 5 lbs in 6 weeks) So hang in there, ask for another fill soon, and exercise. good luck!
  7. The current legislation makes no accomodations for the baby.
  8. I told my husband that i am a "flying muffin". I've got the muffin top rolling over the waist band and the bat wings ready to take flight! Pretty pictue, huh!
  9. I am 5 mos out and i have had 5 fills and i only have 2.1cc in my band. I have some resriction but no to that sweet spot yet. My dr is only doing .2 or .3cc now at a time. I'm wondering if they are just trying to get more money out of me or if he does not know what he is doing. i am one of his first band patients. Things just don't seem right to me with everything else i am reading here. What should i do?
  10. If you like isopure then try protein ice. I'm not sure where you can get it where you live. I get mine at a local health food store. It is a 100x better than isopure. It doesn't leave that gross filmy coating in your mouth and tastes just like punch.
  11. I went on a weekend vacation with two of my friends two weeks after surgery. I moved from full liquids to mushies the second day of the trip. I ate alot of soups, scrambled eggs, pudding, etc. Of course i took my protein drinks with me and drank those alot too. I think i only spent $25 on food for the whole weekend which was a great plus. Depending on your dr orders you should be ok 3 weeks post op.
  12. To me it seems unfair that some people view Christians as judgemental just for expressing our beleifs, but when others express their beleifs its just their point of view.
  13. The other night my dh and i were watching Norbit wihch was not very entertaining to say the least, but as i was watching i realized that all of the fat jokes and the attitudes displayed towards the fat people bothered me. My dh who does not have a weight issue thinks that sometimes i am too sensitive beacause it hits too close to home. THat may very well be true but i am tired of the way sterotypes of fat people continue to be in all of these movies. Does anyone else the problem here?
