Number One.
Hey there- i was banded on Oct.14th. I feel pretty good 5 days out. I started at 242 when I went to the band seminar, surgery day I was 220 and now I am 213.6 today. (5'5" and 37). I am most nervous about something happening to the port or something.....but otherwise am very happy with the decision I have made. I too am a Christian! I wish you the very best. Keep me posted/message me anytime!!! take care.

A few Days in
Hey there- I was banded on the 14th. My port site is the most painful too!!! The pain in your left shoulder is most likely from the gas they pump into you during surgery to make room to do the surgery. Take walks if you can- that should help, and Gas-x strips help a little as well. I am doing ok with the liquid diet now that i have gotten my protein shake routine down...it really helps. feel free to message me anytime!!! take good care of yourself and I will talk with you soon. : )

Banded 10-14 and doing OK
Hey there- i was banded the same day! I feel pretty good with the exception of "gas"- need to burp all the time. also have a little bleeding around the port site inscision??? do you have this? it worries me a little....called the on call dr. and he said to just put some sterile gauze on it....so i did. but oh my!!! anyway, i find it hard to tell if what i feel is hunger or gas. I feel, what i suppose is the band, when i roll to my side from laying on my back or when i first sit up....do yall feel this???? keep me posted on your progress etc.!!! good luck to you both. take care, Leslie

ok- small freak out
I am freaking out a little bit. My port site inscision is bleeding a little...... called the "on call" dr. for the weekend and he said to just put some antibiotic ointment on it and some sterile gauze. I have done that, but Im still nervous. Did anyone else experience this.....Im sure I am over reacting, but Oh my goodness, just have never been through anything like this before. thanks for any advice, encouragement, etc. thanks, Leslie

Today was the day!!!!!
I had my lap band surgery today!!!! I went in at 10:30, Surgery at noon, and home by 7:00 pm. apparently, I had to spend 3 hours in recovery due to my blood pressure dropping a little low.....they gave me IV fluids and that did the trick. I have some pain, but not too bad right now.....none of the gas pain that i thought i would have.....knock on wood that it all stays the way it is today...... So glad to have joined the bandsters!!! I will keep you posted. love to all:thumbup:

One Week and Counting!!!!
One week from today I will be having my lap-band surgery!!! I am so excited. I had my upper GI study done yesterday, and did all my pre-admission stuff at the hospital today. They did an EKG, blood work, and a chest x-ray! So, now just 6 more days of my pre-op liquid diet......I've lost 5 pounds (cause I cheated one day)......more to come. This is quite a journey and I am ready to move foward with!!!! I know there are several folks I have talked to recently that are having surgery this week and next....good luck to you all. talk to you soon!!!!
