Banded 10-14 and doing OK

My wife and I both were banded on the same day Wednesday 10-14, and we seem to be doing OK. On the liquid diet and not in too much discomfort. I'm having what feels like hunger pangs but I'm guessing its just gas ( I have supporting evidence that its just gas). But am just not sure what its supposed to feel like 3 days post surgery. Is it normal to feel like your hungry? Fishing this evening was good so I'm guessing I'm doing OK on recovery.:wink2:

Hey there- i was banded the same day! I feel pretty good with the exception of "gas"- need to burp all the time. also have a little bleeding around the port site inscision??? do you have this? it worries me a little....called the on call dr. and he said to just put some sterile gauze on it....so i did. but oh my!!! anyway, i find it hard to tell if what i feel is hunger or gas. I feel, what i suppose is the band, when i roll to my side from laying on my back or when i first sit up....do yall feel this???? keep me posted on your progress etc.!!! good luck to you both. take care, Leslie

Day 5 and stomach pains are subsiding, so I'm guessing it was mostly gas. Did my 20 minutes on the treadmill then got on the Wii fit. It says I've lost 11 lbs since Wednesday. I will be at my goal weight in about 2 months at this rate. Somehow I just don't think it will be that easy.

LOL Capn'! Some get hungry the day they get home and for some it takes a week or so. The hunger does come back, it's normal. Your band has some restriction now only from the stomach tissue swelling, but that will go down. It's all about healing for the first six weeks. The most important thing is getting your fluids in. The band will be helping you soon enough...be patient (GINGER that goes for you too...I didn't have good restriction until my 3rd fill...yes, it's a small pouch, but right now the funnel hole is huge). You'll get there! Best wishes! -BG
