Best wishes to you on your journey to a healthier YOU I was banded June 29, 2009, and I weighed in at over 250 pounds. I was a mess. I am a size 10 today and people call me skinny. Go figure skinny. I have NEVER been skinny in my life. I have had a wonderful LB journey as I am sure you will too. Make the most of it every day and be happy! The soreness does go away it took almost two weeks for me to feel better after my surgery as it is MAJOR surgery! Rest up and take time to heal yourself. This is all about you NOW. Remember you are healing from the inside out. The weight will come off don't worry about that. Follow all the Band rules and blogging is one of the BEST things that helped me get to where I am today. I love this site. I never eat at my computer it is a NO FOOD zone. Best wishes and keep blogging Oh and I have lost 110 pounds as of today and have kept it off, I feel great and even went mini bungee jumping with my college age kids two week ends ago. Never thought I would have ever tried that. Hope to hear from you soon. Happiness to you and feel better soon. imaluckydog

Best wishes to you. I went and had my first consult for tummy and breast and I am a "GO" patient due to how short I am and how much I have lost. That makes me happy I have been a year out but I am going to wait until next summer to make it two years. I have lost over 100 pounds How much have you lost? My skin is so jiggly. Are you nervous? I am.....Oh happy Day imaluckydog
  5. Yaaa for you and keep up the excellent work with your band. It does come off slow and sometimes so slow it seems like a crawl. I was also in the 260's over a year ago and I now weigh 147. Yup, lost over 100 pounds and I have never been so happy in my life. Size 10 in most clothes. I love to shop now and I am poor because I buy everything that I love because everything fits now. Best wishes and enjoy your journey. imaluckydog
  6. This is a tough one. What do we want more? I want thin. To be thin I need to eat less, eat REAL food, Not too much mostly plants with PROTEINS first. I wish you all the Best. It is hard I agree. Be honest with yourself, get back on track it is ok to make mistakes, learn from them. Best wishes imaluckydog

Lets face the facts here!!! It's NOT REAL. It is not a real food. I know what you are experiencing and it stinks, it is so hard, and our minds are so strong. I was banded June 29, 2009. I have NOT had a soda or carbonated drink since that day. Over a year. Yes, I miss it sometimes. It took about 2 weeks maybe a little longer to be free of the cravings. I wanted one just like you do. It was like a drug for me. It is NOT real. The sooner you are free of all the chemicals in the convenience products the BETTER you are going to be. I have lost 110 pounds and I eat REAL FOOD, not too much, mostly plants with PROTEINS first. You will have Success if you follow the rules. Best wishes on your Journey Just say NO one soda thought at a time. Best wishes imaluckydog
  8. I agree, Crunch and munch can't be that bad!! Don't let a little snack food control how you feel. Do not give it such power. I think it great you can allow yourself a snack. You have work so hard and nothing should have that much negative power. I love chocolate and I make sure I have some when I need it. I just make sure I enjoy every tasty morsel. I hope you will be able to enjoy snacks someday. Everything in moderation. Best wishes imaluckydog
  9. The weight will come off when your body will let it go. Just keep following the band rules. I did not lose much at all the first month. I also gained after surgery your body is adjusting. You are still healing so pamper yourself and try not to focus on the pounds. Focus on living and finding fun things to do with the new you. Before you know it the pounds will disappear. Keep busy and walk. Eat small to be small. Best wishes imaluckydog

Hello everyone, all such great help and all newbies need support. I am hearing what wonderful information your are giving. Yes, you can eat what ever you want within limits. I have been banded over a year now and I am keeping off 110 pounds. I did stop drinking all soda, my choice. Our body just does not need it. It was about 2 weeks and I never thought about it again. I do NOT drink anything with my meals. This is so so so important. I stay fuller longer. I need to be on a schedule because I never get hungry. I need to nourish myself with REAL food, not too much, mostly plants with PROTEINS first. Eat small to be small. If it comes to you thru the window of your car it is NOT real. So important to practice small chewing. Putting the fork and knife down to rest and eating slowly are all great practices. We will eat less and get more full and more satisfaction from eating and tasting our food. I miss eating fast. I miss eating Large quantities of food at one time. I miss feeling over stuffed. I do not miss being morbidly Obese and having a BMI of over 40. I love my new clothes and my new figure and all the great comments I get now I am a size 10. I am so grateful to everyone on this site that helped me when I was a Newbie. Best wishes everyone imaluckydog

You will do well. Just keep moving and the loss of appetite is normal for many. I still need to make myself eat. I just think it is band placement and I love never being hungry. Just get on a schedule and nourish yourself and follow the rules. Please go easy the first few weeks your insides are healing and that takes some time. Glad to hear all is well and the journey has begun for you. Best wishes imaluckydog.

Just amazing I mean it JUST AMAZING!! I am so proud of you and keeping your head in the game of things. You go girrrrl. I always hated not losing for the longest time but in the big picture.... RIGHT.... OMG the inches is where it is at. You go girl friend. You FEEL GOOD you have earned it. Best wishes imaluckydog and holding at 110 for now I can't stand it when people say to me "You don't want to get too skinny" LOL like I could ever be TOO SKINNY hahahahaha
  17. Well look at how far you have come!! I stayed the same for almost one month. It was suggested I switch my foods up a bite and eat different things. I needed to watch the caloric value of some foods and keep a variety of foods and liquids going in. I found the plateau was very hard for me to deal with. I ate more cooked broccoli and other veggies and it helped. You are probably doing everything well and the plateau is just your bodies way of letting you know who is in charge. I know because my body never really liked losing 110 pounds. Hang in there and the scale will move. Follow the rules. Best wishes imaluckydog

You have the best attitude already. You know what you must do. The band will work with you if you listen to your body. Keep moving and walking in always my choice. I have lost 110 pounds in a year so GOOD things are worth the wait. I just love my band and myself for being able to follow the rules and stay on track. You will do it too. I was banded June 29, 2009 Best wishes imaluckydog

So proud of you GF!! This is how we work our band Awhauh, Awhauh we like it!! I had to have another Un-fill yesterday. I was able to tighten my muscles around my band due to my own inner stress level. Not a GOOD thing. I need to learn how to relax. Quick... You are doing so very well and make me remember how much fun I should be having with a 110 pound weight loss. The best thing that happened to me was yesterday while shopping for a new dress. Another women was trying on the same dress and she said to me and the dressing attendant why didn't she look as great in the dress as I DID!!! Yes, I bought the sexy little black dress a size 10 from J Crew. OMG Here is to the JOY of Lap Band SUCCESS. I love every minute. Best wishes imaluckydog PS My NP told me we yesterday, people who blog or journal are 10% to 20% more likely to have better SUCCESS with their LB journey than someone who does not. Cool huh?
