Officially Banded!!

I made it through my procedure yesterday and I'm so glad the waiting is over. I'm in the recovery phase and trying to adjust to the band. I don't have much of an appetite and I had to be given an IV last night because I was becoming dehydrated because I had to use the catheter.

Unfortunately, I don't have much of an appetite but I have to force myself the take in the liquids. I'm glad I made this change and I'm officially on the road to a new me.

Thanks again for listening to my rants over the my waiting period.

A little advice. Make sure you get all your medication, liquids and popsicles before your procedure. It helped tremendously to have everything available during this phase even when you have someone at home taking care of you.

Best wishes to everyone.

Yes, I am making myself walk around and take my dogs out for a short walk to keep my strength up. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

Best wishes and Take care.

Welcome aboard! I know you will find, as most of us have, that this is the best decision you've ever made. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, but be sure to give yourself time to heal and be good to yourself while you drink and walk, drink and walk - :-)

Walking is the best thing you can do at this point. You should eat only when you feel hungry. Isopure, 40gram protein drink, is tasty and will help you get your proteins for the day. You can purchase them at any GNC and they come in many different flavors. Welcome to the lap-band community. We all have the same goal here - lose weight, help others here and enjoy our journey.

You will do well. Just keep moving and the loss of appetite is normal for many. I still need to make myself eat. I just think it is band placement and I love never being hungry. Just get on a schedule and nourish yourself and follow the rules.

Please go easy the first few weeks your insides are healing and that takes some time.

Glad to hear all is well and the journey has begun for you. Best wishes imaluckydog.

Thank you for all your helpful advice. I'm trying to make myself drink, but I am taking my supplements. I over did it yesterday so I'm making myself rest today because I'm sore. With that said, I'm still excited about being banded. Thanks for your support.
