  1. Hang in there, I do hear it get better. I was banded on April 15 and I've only lost about 28 lbs... so I think you're doing great.. I get discouraged sometimes also, but I have to remember it takes time, and everybodies body is different.... I have my 2nd fill on Monday, Aug 10th.. I have defintely fill restriction, I'm still on liquids though... that's my dr's order after his fills full liquids for a week... I'm even having troulbe taking vitamins.. they are getting stuck...From what I hear though it's not good to vomit daily.... you might have to get a slight unfill.. I hope when I start eating I don't exepricence this.. because it's very scary when a pill get stucks.... I think you need to call the dr' because it's been over a month since you had that fill and you don't want to cause your ban to slip... Everything will work out.. Hang in there..
  2. Hi, Jasmin I can't wait to see what responses you get, becasue I have been wondering this same thing... I got my 2nd fill on Monday, and I chewed 2 chewable flinstone vitamins this morning, I must didn't chew them well enough because one got stuck.. and it kept trying to go down.. OMG... I don't like this feeling.. It wasn't hurting like the other vitamin on Monday that got stuck, but it was uncomfortable. I literally fill my food, vitamin going through the espoghas, stoma, or channel or whatever it's going through... it's a weired filling. I've been on liquids the last couple of days, dr's order and glad I am because the stomach is sore from the fill on monday... I'm kind of scared anyways to start back on solids because of the stuckness of pills, I can't even imagine food.. I would like to know also is this normal.. Thanks Jasmin for asking.
  3. Hi there I guess that just shows that everyone is different. I had my 2nd fill on Monday as stated on previous threads and he gave me 2.5cc and I feel like I'm stuffed, I couldn't even swallow my daily vitamins without them being stuck.. Maybe I will loosen up in a couple of days.. but I have a week on liquids. It guess it depends how your body and how large is your band... I really don't know the size of my band but the NP seems to think it's 10.
  4. Congrats well put.
  5. Hi, there your probably still tired from the anesthesia, of if you're taking paind meds that makes you sleep and tired.. Yes you can take chewable vitamins, at least that's what my dr told me, flinestones, or whatever... I didn't have to cough or anything, but there will be a discomfort for a couple of days... What hurts? You should be drinking your protein shakes, at least every 4 hrs because you will get weak if nothing in your body.. I hope this helps..
  6. Yes that helps, to know I'm not alone, mabye other bandsters will apply also.. Yes I took my vitamins on yesterday as I always do and one of them got stuck. And yes I felt it when it was released and traveled. Before that 2nd fill on Monday I didn't feel anything, had no problems taking vitamins, so this morning I broke the capsules and mixed with protein shake.. That's cool you and your husband had it... you care take notes together and feed off of each other.. Thank you for your response.
  7. Hello, guys I posted on Monday of this week indicating that I had my 2nd fill and I defintely fill restriction. Been on liquids since then. But my question is when I drink something I have no problems swallowing, but I can feel it going down is that normal?? I can fill it going through stoma or esphogas or where ever it's going.. Is that normal? I'm just wondering because when I start eating again, if it's doing it with water / juice, I can't imagine with food. When my dr does his fills he makes u stay on liquids for a week, so I want be on mushies until next Tuesday... Can you all share with me your exeperience? This site really helps me a lot. Thank you.

Congrats!!! you are doing great. This is inspiration I tell you, I'm coming upon my 4 month and I have a long way to go.... I've only lost about 28 lbs or so.. I had my 2nd fill on yesterday so hopefully I starting loosing more... Can you give me some ideas of your diet and your exercise plan, I exericse at least 3 times a week 30 minutes on eliptical and 25 minutes on treadmill.. then weights for about 20 minutes.. any ideas are recommend. Keep up the good work.
  9. Good morning fellow bandsters... I had my 2nd fill on yesterday, what and experience.. I guess everyone is different, a little sore this morning. But I'll survive.. But the scariest thing happened this morning, I went to take my vitamins as I always do, and OMG... one got stuck... I was panicing and I almost started crying because of the uncomfortable feeling.... LOL now that it is over.. I guess I'll be going back to chewables, it's not a hard pill it's a capsule but it's medium size.. I do realize that once I start back eating solid foods I will be chewing for long periods of time... because if a pill can get stuck... I don't even want to think of any food... I do not like that feeling. .. Maybe I'll loosen up in a couple of days.. I am able to drink without a probelm, but it hasn't been 24 hrs yet so we'll see... I was just scared there for a minute... Just need to vent a little. Banded 04/15/09 First fill 2.5 cc 06/15/09 Second fill 2.5 cc 08/10/09.
  10. Wow.. you're scaring me I go get my second fill today also, actually 45 minutes from now, it's 1:45 my time my appt is at 2:30. I hope you feel better, I might take Failure Isn't an option advise... At least 30 minutes before I leave the dr's office... I hope you feel bettter tomorrow after he removes some of the saline.
  11. Hi, Kitkat, I think you need to tell your husband, because he might be upset when he does find out that your mom knows and your daughter knows, and he didn't even know. I took my husband with me to be educated with the lapband and how it works, becasue at first he was like no.. but when he went with me and was educated he was fine with it... he has been my biggest supporter and he took me to the hospital and stayed with me all day, I couldn't have done it without him, he helped me bath and all when we got home, and besides I don't like keeping secrets from my husband, that one way to destroy a marriage.. I hope you understand where I'm coming from... Tell him it's for your health and you want to live as long as you can... I pray that everything works out for you. God bless u.
  12. I have a friend of my who was banded last year in April and she found out about 2 weeks ago that her band had slipped. She was also a self pay and had her surgery done in Mexico. She goes to a local dr here, and after getting a fluroscopy that's how she knew. Her syptoms that she had every day was vomiting, she could only drink protein and soft foods.. when she ate solid foods she was vomiting. I told her months ago when it start happening to go to the dr.. but she didn't. The dr had to remove all the fill from her band and told her to come back in 6 weeks and that the band might fix itself. I don't know how true that is, but I guess she'll see in the next month or so.

  14. Wow you're doing great.. what an encourgement to see you down 87lbs in 4 months.. You are really rolling.. Awsome. Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride.
  15. Aw man you are exeperiencing the same thing I am. Wow, I thought I was the only one, I get my 2nd fill on August 10th.. I really haven't lost that much weight since my first fill June 15th 2.5 cc and I called my dr a month after that to try and get it and he was all booked, they squeezed me in for the 10th. Hang in there.. because that's what I'm trying to do and I'm exercising to.. I was up 2lbs this morning.. was upset but it'll all work out I know exactly how you feel.. Hang in there we are fills are right around the corner. This will all pass..
  16. Good morning, I have mine there, right under my breast bone. Everyone doesn't have them in the same place. It's ok..
  17. Hi, did you mean 07/08/09? If it's 09, that feeling you have is correct, becasue you're only about 3 weeks post op so you will still feel that restriction feeling, give it about 2 more weeks then it'll probably be done wore off. Then you'll be like I was I need a feel. Hang in there it gets better.
  18. Hi, I think you might need to get unfilled a little. Call your dr today (monday) asap.
  19. Hi, I used vitamin E on mines and merderma, after it was healed.. seemed to work pretty well for me. Hope this helps. I did put a little aloe plant on it a couple of days, but I got tired of cutting the plant so I used the vitamine E and merderma.
  20. Can they put you on a payment plan.. do they have any other advice becasuse you really need to be seen. I have a friend in the same situation as you with no health insurance and was vomiting everyday.. She did end up seeing a dr on yesterday self pay and they did a floroscopy and her band had slipped. Please go get checked out.. Apply for care credit, I beleive that what I read on her that people do so they can be seen.. I'm really sorry this is going on with you, I pray all works out.
  21. You'll be fine, you'll have plenty of pain meds. Don't worry about it.. say a prayer and you'll be fine.. before you know it it'll be all over. Everyones pain level is different. God bless u.
  22. Sorry, I haven't had my band replaced just got banded April 15th. But my friend just called today and told me her band had slipped, she had a fluroscopy today and it showed,, this is the kicker she had her surgery in mexcio and see a local provider, I asked her what did the dr say, she said they removed all the liquid and said the band my fix itself.. I've really never heard of that.. But my question to you is how long has it been since you've been banded? What were your symptoms? Her's were vomiting all the time not able to keep solid foods down.. Did you have to pay to get it replaced? Or was it covered since you already had the band. I dont' forsee this happening to me, but I just find it very informational and I can talk to her to inform her. Thanks and I pray the new one works out.
  23. Wow Jodi you explained that great, last night I experienced this for the first time.. OMG... It was in my throat and my esophagus kept contracting like it was trying to push the food down. The confusing part about it I hadn't ate anything for like 5 hrs before so I knew I wasn't full becasue the last thing I had was a shake around 6 o oclock, then I tried to eat a piece up chicken drum stick and piece of cornbread.. OMG... I immediatley threw it out... I was scared and my husband goes drink something, I'm like I can't.. Thanks for explaining that even though I didn't ask the question.
