Very frustrated!

I am so frustrated with my progress and this band! I had a 3cc fill on July 15th and I still have no restriction  I can eat a whole sandwich - doughy bread and all....3-4 pieces of pizza etc. STILL! I go back for another fill on the 12th of August! I haven't lost any more weight since the pre-surgery diet - I read that people are unable to eat bread etc. and only eat little amounts...I have a little restriction in the morning, but by dinner, I am wide open! Any suggestions on what to tell the doc? Is there hope?

Mom, if you have only 3ccs of fill, you likely are not at your sweet spot and possibly not even close. If you don't have an appointment for another fill, make one.

What I was told to do before I reached my sweet spot was to prepare my meal, consisting of 3 oz of lean Protein, raw or steamed veg and a single serving of whole grain carb. If I got hungry again before 4 hours (and you usually will if you aren't to your sweet spot), I was to EAT PROTEIN...a boiled egg, an ounce of low fat cheese, a serving of low fat cottage cheese (which is loaded witih protein).

It sounds like you are eating a lot of carbs, which isn't a great thing to do even if you don't have any problem eating them! You should focus on eating a minimum of 60 grams of protein per day.

Cathy is right. I know it is frustrating, but remember just because you CAN eat that much, you still shouldn't. Try to stick to the amounts your doctor told you to eat and try to make some healthier food choices. Without good restriction it is hard, I know, but do the best you can to use your willpower to get you through this phase. Call and ask for another fill when you can. I have had fills take several weeks to really "kick in." That could happen to you yet. Have patience and hang in there. The band will work, but do everything you can to help it out while you're waiting for that restriction.

I can totally relate because I am at the same point. I have had 3 fills and don't feel restricted at all. I have found that I am losing my good attitude and gaining fear that I can't do this. I am afraid that I will frustrate my doctor too, but the fact is that I cannot tell a huge difference at all. I go back on the 28th of this month, if not before. I admit that I want instant results because I like everyone am motivated by losing. I am going to try and do everything by the book and I am starting aerobics tonight. I need to make sure that this isn't my fault. I will say a prayer for you because I feel your pain. We will be successful. I just know it.

Aw man you are exeperiencing the same thing I am. Wow, I thought I was the only one, I get my 2nd fill on August 10th.. I really haven't lost that much weight since my first fill June 15th 2.5 cc and I called my dr a month after that to try and get it and he was all booked, they squeezed me in for the 10th. Hang in there.. because that's what I'm trying to do and I'm exercising to.. I was up 2lbs this morning.. was upset but it'll all work out I know exactly how you feel.. Hang in there we are fills are right around the corner. This will all pass..
