You can still eat when you go out. The point of the band is to help you be satisfied with less. I haven't stopped going out to things that involve food - they are past of life

I hope you find it. I find that the sensation a couple of years down the line is very different to initially. Things that were difficult to eat are easy to eat and I find t harder to stop myself grazing yet I still eat small portions. More fill doesn't seem to be an option as that then seems to lead to reflux.
Seems to be 1 of those weird but yet unexplained things about the band and how it works.

Is that lbs or kilos? If it is pounds that you are TINY!

I know how you feel. The last time I took an Endone pill I felt like death. Nausea, dizzy etc etc. Hope you start feeling better now that you have worked that out.

Try googling health risks of obesity - hopefully that will scare you more.

Yes you are only human, we all make mistakes. I have never been a binge eater so I don't understand the urges behind it, my issue is I am a grazer and I have to fight that all the time. The band does nothing to help. It did for the first couple of years but now the urge to snack is back in a big way.
I am sure that you will not repeat this mistake again soon and you will be fine.

I hate bananas, now I don't need to worry that I missing out on a great diet snack.

Anything you eat standing up or off anyone elses plate also doesn't count. Those are well known dieting "facts"!

Wow, cannot believe waterfront property is so cheap. Property in Aus is incredibly expensive. Waterfront would cost a million dollars plus.

I've always been allergic to exercise. I get hot, sweaty, can't breath properly, sometimes it causes a rash...............

An apple, albeit a smaller one than I used to be. I think apples are the worst pick of the bunch.

I don't know what to say other than "sorry". What you are going through must be so hard.

You have a great attitude - that should help you to achieve success.

Sounds as though you have probably pulled the muscle that the port is attached to.

I'm the opposite, much prefer having an IV in am arm but quite often they put it in my hand as it is easier for them. I find there it hurts so much more and it makes it difficult to use your hand. It sucks when a non bariatric Dr tries to unfill you. When I was in the ER I was lucky, after 2 attempts (which weren't too painfull) he sent me to have it done under fluoro.
For the record here in Aus they never numb before filling and I have never found it to be a problem. I think maybe they use a different needle here because it does not look exceptionally long and thick to me.
Sorry you had to go through this but hope you feel better now.

It sounds like you are already too tight. The soft mushy foods that you are eating won't fill you up, you will get hungry and you will put on weight. The band is designed to work most effectively when you eat solid protein, veg and healthy carbs. If you can't eat these you are too tight.

I think that your Mum should just turn off Dr Oz. I beleieve he is a complete and utter quack and most of the stuff on his show is rubbish. I did watch about 5 minutes of the show that showed these supposed lapband patients and the couple of teaspoons of food that they eat daily. That is so false, that is not what a band is about and that is not how we eat.

I love it, it looks great. I've just started quilting so am a complete novice. Just got back from buying some cheap fabric at one of our craft shops. I can't wait to finish a proper quilt.

Oatmeal is great. It is one of the suggested breakfast foods on most Australian plans and it helps to lower your cholesterol and keep your heart healthy.

If you need help post a thread in the general forums. If you post in a blog you are not likely to get a lot of response.

It sounds as though you are too tight and need to get some fluid taken out. The reflux at night is a symptom of this and you don't want to leave it as it can cause problems.
"I eat healthy"... but i'm still fat

I have to disagree with you. All you have to do to get fat is eat more than you need, it can be done as easily on healthy food as unhealthy food. What a lot of people don't relaise though is how much their little treats add up, so although their diet is 90% healthy they forget that the cookies etc they eat in between all add up. Plus things like cheese are healthy but only in moderation. Then there are all the foods that we have been fooled into thinking they are healthy e.g low fat foods not realising that they are actually high calorie and full of sugar.
Being a short (153cm) person who is now at a healthy BMI I can see how easy it is to inadvertently eat too much and gain weight. My BMR is ridiculously low and the older and slimmer you get the lower your BMR gets. So effectively if you eat the same at 50 as you did at 30 you will gain weight. Sometimes all it takes is 1 extra cookie each day......................
