  1. This morning my band was tighter than usual and low and behold it is hot and muggy out today. I PB'd on my breakfast this morning. First time ever.
  2. I'm not really isolated because I do have a great family and I have friends but I do get lonely in the sense that I don't have a husband or children to share my life with. Alot of it is my fault because I don't have the self confidence to talk to men. I'm hoping that will change as I get thinner and get over my body issues. If not I see therapy in my future.
  3. Had my surgery on Wednesday by Saturday I went to my nephew's birthday party and Sunday I went to a superbowl party and was back to work by Monday. I had to take it easy on those days but I was getting back to a normal life. By Tuesday I felt much, much better.
  4. Yea 8 lbs to go!!!!! Won't quitemake it but i'll be close! That's all that matters!
  5. Hi Angel! Welcome to LBT. Good luck with your seminar. You won't be sorry! This was my 1st major surgery since I had my tonsils removed when I was 4 and it was no problem. Good luck with your journey hope it goes well for you!
  6. Yes I have very bony shoulders too. When I lay down on the couch it hurts because I don't have no padding there no more. It's great! Hopefully i'll get a bony butt!
  7. I have kneecaps! I forgot I even had them since I had so much fat around my knee. Anyone else discover a body part they didn't think they actually had?
  8. Oh my gosh for real? That sucks. You've come so far! You look frickin' awesome and you work hard to look that way. People can be so shallow and judgmental.
  9. I will officially be 6 months out on July 28, 2009. So far I have lost 54 pounds. I'm hoping by 6 months to be down 60+ pounds.
  10. That's too bad that they'd rather be hostile towards you than support you through your journey. It's a tough thing you are gonna be going through and you need all the support you can get. Hang in there you can do it and you'll show them!!!
  11. Wow you really are motivated. You're doing great. Hopefully you'll be banded one day soon!
  12. Oh sorry I thought you said you lost 100 lbs. 70 lbs is still good dang it. Quit beating yourself up over it. Look at yourself in the mirror you are a much smaller person than from when you started out. Focus on positive things instead of negative things about yourself. Eventually you will lose that self-loathing you have of yourself. I still think of myself as a size 26 and I have to tell myself oh yeah i'm a 18/20 on top now and a 24 on bottom. I always think that when I try on shirts they aren't going to fit me because i'm so used to trying on 26.
  13. Because of the horrible self image that we have of ourselves! That is so awesome that you've lost over 100 lbs you should be proud of yourself. Don't be afraid to get those pics out and look at the difference in yourself from the way you were before to now.
  14. Take it one step at a time. Step one: Go get your band tightened. Step two: quit drinking when you eat. This is a hard one as you've done this your whole life! I know it was my hardest. Once you get step 1 & 2 down start step 3 which is exercise of some sort. Whether it's going for a walk or riding your bike. Good luck!!! Take control back. You can do it!
  15. Good for you for taking control back! It gets so easy slipping back into our old habits.
  16. Yes it does change. I'm not obsessed with food the way I was before and most of the time I can look away and not even think about eating that cookie. That's not to say I don't occasionally indulge but do I buy them anymore - no I don't. I'm at the point where I tell myself is it really worth getting fat over eating that? No it's not and I occupy myself with doing something else. I also do not crave sweets like I used to either. I prefer to eat fruits and veggies over junk food.
  17. One thing i've had to learn is to take small portions otherwise I would end up clearing my plate because I couldn't waste food.
  18. Like you i've only pb'd twice since my surgery. Both were from chicken and not taking the time to chew it properly. When I get full I get that really uncomfortable feeling you're talking about. I also get that if I eat too fast.
  19. 1. Asking for the extended seat belt on an airplane. I finally got smart and asked for it the minute I got on the plane. That way I'm not embarassed when I can't get the belt on and have to ask in front of everyone. 2. Last time i went to 6 Flags in 2003 I had a hard time fitting on the rides. We went to go get on the Batman ride and I had to move to a different seat because the seat belt was longer. I am going to Florida this August and it'll be nice not asking for an extended seat belt and being able to fit ok on the rides.
  20. Hi welcome! I am 32 years old and I was banded 4 1/2 months ago and I'm down 53 lbs already. Hope your journey is a great one!
  21. Only thing I can tell you is focus all your energy into getting yourself healthy. He will regret not recriprocating your feelings one day and he's not worthy of you. Last summer I went through the same thing with a guy I was dating. He's not worthy of you! You will find someone who deserves you.
  22. For me it depends. If I am craving sweets I get a bowl of fruit and that satisfies me. But if I want ice cream I eat weight watchers ice cream bars. They are awesome. I don't really crave chocolate anymore. I used to crave it almost every day.
  23. Ugh! That sucks. Good luck with everything. I thank god my best friend postponed her wedding until next June. That gives me a whole year to hopefully lose 70 lbs. I thank god I won't be the chubbiest person in the wedding.
  24. I was good until the morning of my surgery. Then I got really nervous. The reason I chose lapband is because it's done laproscopically and the rate of fatality on the table is extremely low. You'll be just fine!
