  1. At my place you can choose. I'm a wussie when it comes to needles so of course I get numbed first!!
  2. Hi Kat! You may need to increase your calorie intake. Your body is probably holding onto everything it can because it feels as though it may be in "starvation" mode. Try increasing to 1200 calories a day!!! Good luck! You will get there. My body's weird too. I can be good all week and not lose a single pound but the minute I stick something bad or high in calories in me I lose 2 lbs the next day. It's crazy!!!
  3. Thanks for the advice! I think I may go out and purchase Cardio Max.
  4. Wow wasa great post!!! You are very motivational!!!
  5. That is just too funny!! Kids are something else.
  6. Good for you. Also very kindly remind them that the LB is a tool to help you lose weight. It's not going to lose weight for you. You still have to watch what you get and exercise!
  7. I wonder how the cardio max is.
  8. Really? Even more than Bob? Wow. The one I have I sweat like a pig. I'm gonna have to check that one out. Thanks!!!
  9. Anyone out there work out to the Biggest Loser DVD's? I borrowed the Biggest Loser Workout DVD part 1 from a friend of mine and I absolutely love it. I've never sweated so much during a workout in my life! Just was wondering what other people thought of it and are there any others they recommend? I also do taebo, P90 and during the winter Walk Away the Pounds.
  10. what area are you from? I wasn't in the hospital very long. I went there at 6 a.m. and was home by 2:30 that same day. i'm not a fan of hospitals either.
  11. I had my surgery done at Harper Hospital with Dr. Gazayerli. Harper Hospital is a wonderful place to have your surgery. The staff is very caring and very nice!! They will take great care of you.
  12. I started doing Biggest Loser workouts and holy crap they really work you out. I've never sweated so much during a workout!!!
  13. Hi Karlita! Welcome to LBT and changing the rest of your life!!!! Having the LB done was the best decision i've ever made. I'm down over 60 lbs and I feel great. I am so much happier and for once in my life a happy person. If you have any questions at all about your journey or what to expect go ahead and private message me i'm here to help!!!
  14. Wow Paula kudos to you and your decision!!!! You will reach your goal weight one day soon. Yea weight loss is definitely a lifelong journey. I know I have been battling it ever since I was a kid. I don't know what it's like to be a normal size and i'm very much looking forward to that happening one day soon!!!
  15. My decision was pretty simple. The original time I was researching weight loss surgery it was over 4 years ago and lap band was new. In doing my research back then I saw that LB was done laproscopically. Which I know they do GB that way now but they didn't at the time. I also like the fact that my weight loss is much slower with LB then it would have with GB. I didn't wanna have to worry about a bunch of excess skin. Then there was the whole cutting and rerouting stuff and I was not comfortable with that at all nor did I want to deal with any of the complications from GB. I realize there can be complications from LB but I did not have any and the risk seemed much lower. IT may not be like that now but back when I 1st researched LB it was. So that was why I chose LB. Even when I decided I was ready I never went back and researched GB I knew I did not want that.
  16. Love my band. I have had no problems whatsoever. 6 months in (almost) and 61 lbs down!
  17. I don't have to do anything special before or after a fill. i've eaten right before a fill and did just fine. I usually get my fills done on Saturday morning so I go home and drink a protein shake and then have a normal lunch and dinner and i'm fine.
  18. Mine is getting my fat calves into a pair of hooker boots!
  19. Hi welcome! You've come to the right place for support!!!
  20. Prior to banding I had acid reflux bad. I also had a hiatal hernia that my doc repaired. Since I got the LB done I've only had to take my medicine about 4 times and i've been banded going on 6 months now.
  21. But, the statement that the LB is a better choice than the GB simply because of the weight of the Patient is just plain wrong. HH _______________ HH EXCUSE ME FOR STATING MY OPINION JUST AS YOU CLEARLY ARE AND WE ARE NOT BERATING YOU FOR IT!!! Sabertooth just do what you want to do we are all giving you our opinion's. Good luck hon whichever procedure you decide!!! We will be here to support you on your decision and not berate you for it.
  22. Congrats!!! I can't wait until I no longer fit into plus size clothes!
  23. Underwear should be fine. I would avoid jeans and any kind of pants that button up. I wore stretch/flannel/pajama pants for about 5 days.
  24. I am not even 6 months out and i'm at 61 lbs. it all depends on the person. Seeing how you only have 75 lbs to lose the LB is a much better procedure for you than GB. I would not feel comfortable with my insides being cut and rerouted. Good luck.
