  1. STOP STOP the carbinated drinks . I call what you are having mouth hunger you just want something tasty in that mouth.... Your head hunger would tell you to stop. A band restriction will help but bad stuff slides through, your on your way you were doing good . Don't bring crap in the house if you need a fix go out and eat 1/2 of it and throw the rest away.. When I haven't had anything sweet for a long while and just have too have it, it usually makes me really sick and light headed . We all have bad days it happens but 3 bad days is giving yourself permission to eat. Ask your self why it's probably not anything but mouth hunger and having the poor me blues..
  2. I had a choice liquid or 1000 calories, I choose liquid I just wanted it all taken out of my hands 4 proteins a day for 2 weeks. And my liver was beautiful according to my DR. He had told me fat liver I close you up and no band. First words in recovery were was my liver fat???????????? Good Luck.....
  3. Your body and your HEAD are saying what the heck have you done sorta like buyers remorse....... I certainly had it my surgery site was swollen I hurt, and I had a diet that I really knew was not something I would choose to comfort myself, like in the past. So I was anxious. It is perfectly normal to feel that way it is like a trap that you did to yourself. I guess I just went through it not much else to do,you are lucky you have this site to shout out to. What you are feeling is normal your body has had a shock and in my case it wasn't the surgery it was the unknown, I handled everything that came my way in life with food, thats why I knew i needed the surgery when I lost that crutch in the begining I was anxious . But today as most banders will tell you it was the best decision of my life I have learned to love myself with out food . Somethings in life you just have to go through to get to the otherside, if you need more help call the Dr, you are not the only person who has felt the way you are feeling......
  4. Lucky you a built in support system one who understands what you are feeling and only one set of food to make and boy will you save$$$ on eating out and grocerys. You can spend it all on new clothes.. He may lose faster then you darn men always do............... You can excercise together and go to the gym . Good Luck to you and what away to start out a new year and new life..............
  5. STILL Have your Gall Bladder??????????? Talk to your Dr. Good Luck??
  6. Okay I think all of us to some degree know where you are coming from. I have lost all but 20 lbs of my weight I am in my 60's and I have struggled with my self image all of my life when I weighed 120 lbs I was fat in my head. It took a therapist asking me to bring in pictures of my self through the years that I realized it wasn't my weight that was the problem. It was my head and how I saw myself. I am a pretty woman I have a great fun personality and I love people and fun and doing things for others my one true wish in life is that I had a friend like me. Sound arrogant no I know my good points and I have learned that how I think about me is how others think about me. Sure I don't go sleevless often , and the girls are lower then I like , I still have a little muffin top but that does not define me and anyone that uses that to define me doesn't deserve my attention. This a learned attitude on my part, I was just like you once and I really appreciate your willingness to lay yourself out there. You are not alone in your thoughts and I hope you learn to love yourself and appreciate all the good things you are instead of focusing on the negative things you think you see in the mirror. Anyone who has gone to the level we have to look and feel better deserves to be at peace with themselves...Good Luck and God Bless
  7. I have the Band and I love it.... the sleeve was not around or I didn't know about it when I was banded 4 years ago. I love my band... but I would consider the sleeve because I hate the worrys of flipping, fills and unfills reflux when to tight.. the good thing about the band is you have control .. you know yourself and so be real honest with the team. Do NOt However let the opinions of family and friends sway you this is your body and your decision nice to have support but regrets for not doing something you really want no way...Yes we have to take vitamins but before my band I took eight medications for high blood pressure and asthma and reflux and getting ready to need diabetic meds now I take nothing.. Good Luck to you
  8. ROLLER COASTERS ARE DANGEROUS.............. TRY THE MERRYGO ROUND
  9. Sound like a huge amount of food to me and when you are full STOP .....; don't save it .... I guess my question is why are you doing this ? Did your Dr recommend this ? Is it costing you ? No 3rd degree here just being 3 years out I know it takes work on my part and once you get in the swing you know what you can and can not eat and anything thats sticking is either to much, not chewed, or a no no for you, I can never ever eat bread sometimes I dream of HAMBURGER BUT ................... IT JUST ISN'T WORTH WHAT IT COST ME IN DISCOMFORT.
  10. Why did you have to have a revision? What was the cause and what were the symptoms and what was the process same as the first time.....
  11. I wore pjs the first week home, Your body is going through major changes not just surgery so I think it depends on your body ..I was just weak....,
  12. You"ve probably been hungry before so I would wait just swish your mouth with water.
  13. They have to tell you all the risk and yes it is scarey... you will be asleep when they are moving it, not sure you would be asleep when you have a stroke or a heart attack, or when you do that insulin shot..... everyone is concerned but you need to trust your Dr.
  14. My Dr told me when I stopped losing YOU HAVE TO EAT THE PROTEIN FIRST, your body will stop losing on carbs . And so I did what he said and it worked. It's hard to eat protein first it's work and it fills you up and sometimes you just want that soft stuff, Those things are more comforting and you can eat a lot more and the scale shows it...
  15. I ended up staying overnight and I slept slept slept... SOOOOOOOOOOO I don't think I could have sat through anything......Slept through a lot of the next day might have been pain meds but I was in pjs for 5 days..Good Luck
  16. Your gall bladder can become sore from all the fat you are losing. I am not a nurse but my Doctor explained this in more technical terms. iIdid get my out because I had waited so long and so it was an emergency surgery at that point.
  17. Pack them away ... what fun it will be when they fall off you next winter... I was afraid I would never lose enough to not wear my fat clothes.. I had a few outfits that I couldn't get into to tight but I had that someday syndrom.. I can't tell you how great it felt when they became way to big to wear either.. It was like at last putting t hat FAT girl away and being kind to myself ...
  18. I had a panic attack in holding............ but I wanted this surgery more then anything..... just knew I couldn't do it alone so with the nurse holding my hand I said lets go and I have NEVER regretted it.....
  19. The gas pain is bad but it goes away hold your nose and take the pain meds. This is no piece of cake and anyone who led you to believe otherwise is wrong.BUT........ everything is worth it and you will see that as clothes fit and meds go away......,
  20. My Dr gave me the first 6 monthes of fills included in my surgery cost. My insurance then paid 80.00 of my 100.00 fill. THe Drs cost sound really high. I only needed a scope once in 3 years and that was fully covered.

Let the Dr decide on the fill . I am 3 years out and I don't remember pain at the incision. Fills don't hurt they spray on a deadener can't think of the word duh..... you fill a little prick . I once had an idiot who couldn't find my port now that was a trip. swelling around the port would have been a Godsend that day.. My port feels tender if I sleep on it . Any one else notice that???
  22. It is fairly normal to have the shoulder pain mine hurt relly bad for about a week.. The I want to burp feeling is from the swelling around the band. It comes after fills as well. You are new at this so just ask questions and do not worry everything you are experiencing is normal.....
  23. How did you know who to call at Blue Cross Blue Shield? My Drs. office does all that and I wouldn't have a clue where to call? Good for you taking it into your own hands, I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan I had to wait a year anyone else out there have any experience with them > My insurance is from Chrysler Corp. I am still on for the 10th.
  24. I went to the Cadiologist yesterday everythings the same as 3 years ago, Pulminary Dr. scheduled breathing test and says things look really good, see both on Nov.25th so it looks like I worried for nothing as ususal. Nesting does that include cleaning every closet nook and cranny. I have been on this simplify my life trip for a few months. I just want change change change surrounding me, I fine myself reorganizing and organizing everything from my closets to the glove compartent in the car..Having surgery 2 weeks before the Christmas holidays makes me wonder how I will feel. I didn't bounce back after my Gall Bladder surgery which everyone said oh thats a piece of cake. I just want it over so I can start the external Change. HUgs Sue
