I do still have my gallbladder. I am not eating anything new or unusual but it seems especially in the afternoons I am having terrible gas pains (belching and flatulence-gee how charming! ) But it is really quite uncomfortable to the point of actual pain. I have a call in to the Dr. so far no call back from them. For the gall bladder folks-did you end up having to get it removed? how do you know if there is a problem with it? thanks all!

What the heck? Is this normal? It seems every time I eat (no matter what it is) I then have terrible belching and even some gas pains that last all afternoon, what is going on? Anyone else?

i took lexapro years ago-and hated it! i have been on zoloft for 2 years now and it is great-BUT i am on it for anxiety so don't know if that would make a difference if you are needing it for depression?

i had this upon waking up from surgery-i just assumed i had bitten my lip at some point while i was out or coming back around. A little salt water on it did help-it only lasted 3 days-good luck!

hey all-please let me know-if post surgery (for you bandsters already having the surgery) you were told to stop taking your bc pills? or has your Dr. told you that you will be post-op? please let me know!! thanks! i am thinking it was just being overly cautious?

thanks so much for the responses-they did tell me both were being done to prevent clots-but apparently this is just new protocol to MY dr.?? i understand about doing the shots-but having to be off birth control was certainly a shock! i don't smoke or have any clotting risks----so guess was just seeing if others were staying on their bc pills?

Hi-i am not trying to do the protein shakes right now (i was just banded on the 15th) they just seem too "thick" to me right now----i am able to get down the isopure though-i alternate between that and water-one bottle of that stuff has 40 grams of protein so that is my plan for this first week-they have it at gnc-good luck!

please someone tell me this is just some crazy Water weight that will come back off...... during my pre op liquid diet-i lost a total of 8 lbs by surgery day which was friday... so i just weighed myself and i am back up to what my original weight was?!?!? what on earth? is this normal?

Hi all, i just had my surgery on friday-so not feeling so great-although better than i might have thought! my question is this-did they take you off birth control post op? when my dr report came when they were releasing me from the hospital they said to stop taking birth control? the nurse said she had never heard of this (and they do many bariatric surgeries) so maybe it was a new policy? Also they put me on lovenox-self injections for 2 weeks? again just a precaution -is everyone else getting this same info? just seems like a LOT of precautions? thanks all! also-generally how long did your incisions ache? any helpful finds on how to sleep? the best i have found is propped up on the couch-but it isn't the best! thanks guys-this board is heaven sent!

i am sorry you are still not feeling so well-just wanted to say hope you feel better! i just got my band yesterday -had to spend the night in the hospital because apparently there were some issues with my breathing at the end of the surgery. i am in a lot of pain still-hoping things will get better quickly-of course i am also a pain weenie! also-i am having to give myself a shot for the next 2 weeks? apparently this is new protocol-anyone else have this? i was just told as they were discharging me.

Just curious if this is actually a deal breaker? Have doctors actually done the cut and realized the liver was too big and cancelled the surgery for a future date or is this a "lap band horror story" to scare me and give me something ELSE to worry about!

Just looking for feedback on this protein drink-my Dr.'s office made it sound like THE answer to the protein intake question! but i am surprised if it is that good that i don't really see any references to it here? does anyone know anything about it-=and suggestions on which flavors are best? thanks guys-this board has made my whole day-SO SO SO glad to have found it!
