I made some snarky comment mine being big too before I gained weight, So the difference in your big blue eyes made me smile, maybe mine will come back when my face thins too!

Approved!
CONGRATULATIONS! I am counting down to July 9th! I am also having a ton of different emotions as it sinks in but most of all I am SO SO SO SO SO excited for all of us! No required pre-op diet other than the day before but I plan to continue eating as healthy as I have been through the last 6 months aside from a couple food funerals (LOL).

Gastric sleeve journey
Good Luck! I've got 22 More days to go! I don't do social media so I can't follow you on IG but I wanted to wish you the best!

Anyone else scared?
I've had all these thoughts too ... Meanwhile my husband (we're having it done together) is nonchalant as ever LOL ETA: I worded my reply wrong. I haven't had these same exact thoughts as you but ive gone through a similar cycle of emotions as I get closer. I have never thought about cancelling but it has been a jumble of excitement, fear, anxiety, happiness. 22 days seems so far and so close at the same time.

Depressed
THIS! I have been through both types at different stages in life. BOTH are very beneficial for different reasons. But as the cliché goes you truly get out of it what you put into it. I really do wish you the best with everything! Sending Hugs!

Has anyone had their gallbladder removed at the same time their surgery?
Our Doctor doesn’t automatically remove the gallbladder but I do remember one of the consents last week being about the gallbladder and that if it looked like it needed to be removed they would remove it. Same with hiatal hernias. And another thing I can’t remember right now that if they see they will correct

June 2019 sleevers
We got our approvals! But looks like we may not be moving up to June as we’d hoped as there aren’t any dates with two slots available. They are looking into some things but looks like we will be staying with July 9th unless a miracle happens. Either way we are still thrilled to be approved!

United Health care Choice plus ???
My approval ended up taking 8 days and my husbands took 10. We both submitted on the same day. Good luck to you! Waiting for approval is so nerve wrecking!

Insurance Approval
Got our approval Thursday! Ended up taking 8 days with UHC Choice Plus

July 2019
I finally got approved Thursday so did my husband. We were holding out hope that with a quick approval we could move up our date but it’s looking like there aren’t any available to keep us on the same day which is a must for us so July 9th it is!

Packing a bag for the hospital
The gas x strips everyone talks about are impossible to find. I am guessing they are discontinued.

Test before surgery
No Endoscopy or Sleep Study. We really had no testing at all just 6 months PCP visits, Nutritionist Visits, Psych Eval. Then sometime week afternext we have bloodwork and a chest xray.
-
Referral Received!!
If it is anything like mine you will watch a video or presentation with a group and it will have TONS of information. Then you will break up and see the Dr for individual questions. But they really didn't leave a lot to ask they pretty much covered everything.

Pre-OP Diet
It’s so interesting to see how different every surgeon is. We don’t have to do the 2 week preop diet. Our only requirement is liquid only the day before surgery and nothing the morning of.
