Unfortunately my husband wasn’t so lucky, after he came home From the Marines and we got comfortable and had a few kids ... life happened! Lol

We have almost identical stats with very close surgery dates! If I can figure out how to follow you back, I will!

We gained it together now we are going to lose it together!

Were already scheduled! My surgeon scheduled before they submit to insurance! My Hubz and I are both getting sleeves July 9th

We just submitted Wednesday afternoon so I’ll give them a couple days before I call but definitely super excited and for you as well!

I'm a social butterfly with a fun personality and a love for sports and outdoors ... and good cooking (obviously). I've always been the big girl that broke the rules. I was always fiercley confident (or atleast I led the world around me to believe that) and that air of confidence has carried me pretty far. I've dated and married the men who'd never been with big girls before me. I have a job not typically held by big girls or big anyone. I keep up with the latest trends and fashions reguarldless of being a big girl. I am a fat runner. And perhaps the sharpets jab of all ... I'm often described as "so beautiful ... for a big girl". What I am looking forward to MOST after surgery is dropping that adjective. I want my accomplishments not to be mentioned as if they are in spite of being the fat girl as if fat people arent allowed to break all these "rules" For the first time in a long time I wan't to NOT be the biggest female or biggest person in the room I don't want the say give me the biggest you have when signing up for a race and they hand me an XL that obviously will not fit I want to run at the gym invisibly next to all the other runners with out heads turning and people making comments in awe that i can actually run I don't want people questioning my ability to perform my job due to my size I don't want to be "beautiful for a big girl" I just want to be plain ole beautiful I want to be able to follow the trends without the nightmare that is finding trendy plus size items . Ive become great at it but honestly its a pain in the ass I don't want my son to feel shame for having the fat mom that people assume sits on the couch and isnt the very active person that I am I want to talk about the gym or running without people scoffing as if theres no way I could possibly be serious I want to do all of the things i love that my weight now limits like sky diving, scuba diving, zip lining, bunjee jumping, wakeboarding ETC. I just want to live my life without that label I just want to be the regular ordinary old me without the need for my size to be attatched to everything i do.

Im legit shaped like a snowman with sticks for arms and legs lmao I carry some in my face but mostly ALL my weight is in my torso. My arms are normal sized and my legs are still normal and muscular and I have no butt already so I cant imagive what surgery is going to do to it

I'm currently scheduled for 7/9 with the possibility of being moved into the end of june if insurance comes back soon. So i figured I'd send out a Hello to the June Sleevers as well!

Hey Gals! I am in LA too! How are y'all doing now that yo uare 6 months out?

I'm just curious if there are any other Chemical Plant operators (or any other plant position) here working shift work who've gone through the sleeve and how your experience has been. With such a labor intensive job I am sure that recovery will be different than that of people with desk jobs or less labor intensive jobs. Im an Operator and My Husband is an I&E Tech, we will both be sleeved 7/9/19 and are planning to take off about 4 weeks due to the lifting restriction.

im in your boat ! My first apt was Dec 9th my 30th birthday. But now I am in the approval stage. 6 months felt like SO LONG when they told us but it really has flown by.

They told us we can choose but we haven’t decided yet. They said we will follow pretty close either way basically once one goes in they will start getting the other ready. But that’s the idea we will go through it all 100% together

A little more about us ... We are from Louisiana, I’m 30 he’s 34. We both work for Chemical Companies. I’m a Board Operator he’s I&E. We have two kids 7 & 2 and two chocolate lab fur babies. We are a very active family and we spend all of our spare time outdoors at the ballpark or on the water fishing. He’s a former Marine and both of us have athletic backgrounds but as it does marriage made us comfortable and somehow with all that was going on in life our health took a backseat. But now we’ve reached a point in life where it’s time to be a little selfish. We have worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices to build a beautiful life for our family but this decision to have the sleeve done is finally putting ourselves first and doing something for ourselves and our health. oh and yesterday we set a date of July 9th!
