I have Anthem BCBS, too. I have been approved for surgery and slso had the 6 month physician supervised diet program. One month I gained like 10 lbs and lost it the following month. I still got approved, so don't worry, but don't gain 5 lbs every month!!

Hi, to you all! Thanks for your advice and words of wisdom! I think I need to get my mindset back on track instead of having perpetual food funerals! I should also go to one of ny group's support groups to remotivate myself. Glad this forum is here!!

Well, I finished all my requirements in December, got approved in January but couldn't schedule my surgery until March 27th because I am moving to a new house, and it's just too much. Now I've got this time on my hands and have lost motivation to watch what I eat, and I'm nervous about this massive life change that's before me!! Any words of encouragement? I've been away from these forums for a few weeks as we're packing and getting ready to move in 3 weeks. Anyway...my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday March 27, 2019. Is there a March group up and running??

March 27th bypass for me! I'm so excited even though it's a long way off. Couldn't do February because we're moving. Is there a March 2019 bypass group yet,? I couldn't find one when I searched.

Thank you all for your replies and advice!! Good suggestions. I will pack and move in February and then have surgery in March after I'm all settled in my new house. Having surgery right before moving would be too much!

Hello! Need advice. We just sold our home and bought another. Closing is February 28th. Im meeting with surgeon on January 8th to sign consent and select a surgery date. I don't know if January is all booked, but if it's not, I need advice on whether I should try to schedule surgery in late January, and move in late February, or If I should move first, get settled, and have surgery in late March. Just not sure when I'll feel like myself again after surgery. Thanks!

I had to have 6 months of nutrition counseling, a psychiatric evaluation, had to have a BMI of 40 or greater. Or 35 with at least 2 comorbidities, and my surgeon required a cardiac evaluation and a barium swallow. Good luck!!

Can someone explain to me why GasX helps, when the gas is actually pumped into your abdominal cavity, and not into your intestines? :-)

Just heard from Anthem, and they Approved my RNY!!! I see the surgeon on January 8th to sign the papers and pick a surgery date!! This is finally getting real!!

Ah, I have heard that gastric sleeve can cause and/or exacerbate heartburn. Let your team know, and I hope you feel better soon!

I hear ya! Im waiting for insurance approval right now, too. It is hard to be patient!!

I met my husband online, too! You just have to be careful like with any thing, and I think you do better with sites you pay for.
