  4. Hey everyone!!!! Had the RNY on Feb. 7th and now I’m back at work(teacher). I feel normal and I don’t have any pain...I really was only in pain the day of the surgery and that’s because the wounds were fresh. Being back at work...I find that I’m thinking to much about what to eat. I had some soup today because I can now eat soft food. So I had to chew the little ingredients that were in the soup. I could have came back sooner but I enjoyed not having to do anything for the last couple of days. I feel the restriction and I’m happy about it!
  5. My experience is quite the opposite. I notice that when I drink water that if I drink it too fast or too much, I feel full and uncomfortable.
  6. As many surgeries that I have had. This is the one that freaked me out the most. The last surgery I had was a tad bit lower than this one and and the one before that was a tad bit lower than the previous one. Surgery is scary either way it goes. I had a complication but not related to the surgery. It was related to an allergic reaction that I had the night before surgery. Everything will be fine and you will know it is fine right after you wake up from the Anesthesia. .
  7. This replenished my energy. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to do anything with just the regular protein shakes from ensure. I had my surgery on Thursday, February 7th and I feel normal now.
  8. I will only be able to hold her while I’m in bed. Occasionally, I may have to lift her to put her in her car seat.
  9. I am being discharged. I still feel tied but at least I’m not sore. All I want to do is sleep because of my lack of energy. I really hope that gets better because I have a 1 year old that needs mommy to be energized for her play play time!
  10. My surgery went well beside my heart racing after some meds they gave me during the surgery. They are going to watch me again today and I will go home tomorrow. I’m not in mich pain but I get to sip on water, ice and protein shakes.
  11. I’m here in my first room with IV in. I am second in line for surgery @9:30. They will give me Benadryl after surgery because they don’t want me already sleepy when they put me under. I’m not as nervous as I was yesterday. Maybe because I sitting here playing a game!??
  12. Surgery is in the morning. However, right now I am having an allergic reaction to the Hibiclens they wanted me to shower with tonight and when I wake up. I have broken out into hives....EVERYWHERE!! I’m itching so bad! Does anyone have any remedies for this? I can’t take Benadryl because I can’t eat or drink anything.
  13. Tomorrow is the day. I will get my band to bypass surgery and I have severe anxiety. I have had a few surgeries but I have never been this nervous. I have to be at he hospital at 5:30am and I am on an all clear liquid diet today. Needless to say, I don’t have an appetite anyway!
  14. Thank you! I’m down to 3 days. I am supposed to be on a clear liquid diet on Wednesday. However, I think I will start that on tomorrow. Just so it’s just extra clear. I might even take a few laxatives to clean me out. I will do that because I have gastroperisis and my stomach empties way slower than a normal stomach. I developed that right after(a week later) I got the band put in.
  15. My band to bypass surgery is scheduled for February 7th and the anxiety has certainly kicked in. I’m trying not to be nervous but at the moment...I can’t help it! Any advice?

  18. My surgery Band to Bypass is scheduled for February 7th. I have to start my 3 week Liver Shrink diet on January 17th due to my BMI being high. I’m nervous and excited at the same time and I can’t wait for that day to arrive.
  19. My surgery was approved today! It took 4 days from the day they submitted. Now, on to my anxiety hurdle. Smh
  20. UPDATE: I contacted my doctors office again on yesterday and explained that I have been trying to get in touch with someone about my insurance submission. Apparently, it was lost so they resubmitted to the insurance and it is finally appearing on my Cigna account in progress. That set me back 3 weeks. Smh Now the wait for the approval begins.
