Oh ?
Also, if you're still on liquids your poop won't be firm. I'd wait until you're on solid foods and then see how it is.

Only lost 4 lbs in 6 days on pre op diet
Thanks, all! I was just worried that it didn't work and my liver would still be fatty, and that would impact the surgery. Guess I'll chill out!! [emoji4]

Only lost 4 lbs in 6 days on pre op diet
Does this mean my liver shrinking diet did not work? I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow and am worried my liver won't be ok. Today is liquids only.

How long is the RNY surgery, typically?
Having my RNY surgery Wednesday and want to give hubby an idea of how long he'll be in the waiting room. Forgot to ask surgeon. I'm having a robotic-assisted, laparoscopic RNY. Thanks! I was thinking 2.5 to 3 housr, but don't know.

Freaking out about all the different vitamins and proteins
Whey protein isolate is ok for folks who are lactose intolerant. I am, and I can drink it with no problems. I cannot, however, drink Premier Protein. Really upsets my system.

reasons for insurance to deny?
Why are you worried? It sounds like you should be approved. What did your surgeon's office say? They likely know why folks get denied and would have mentioned it if something looked off. Good luck, and try not to worry!

Pumping Stomach full of air?
Hi. The doctors dont pump your stomach full of air, but they do pump carbon dioxide into your abdominal cavity so they can see what they're doing. Research what is done during laparoscopic procedures, such as the gadtric sleeve. This has nothing to do with the pre op diet. Some doctors don't require a pre op diet, and some do. Don't worry, it'll be fine. But you may have gas pains afterwards. The gas is not in uour stomach or intestines though.

Anyone else find it difficult with liver shrinking diet with their surgeries?
My favorite thing on the diet so far is raw veggies, especially peppers! They're so crunchy and raw veggies seem to fill me up. Im allowed 2 cups of cooked, or 4 cups of raw veggies a day.

Anyone else find it difficult with liver shrinking diet with their surgeries?
I'm on day 5 of the pre op diet, and some days are easier than others. Yes, I think more fluid helps, and also sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello. Im also allowed low carb protein shakes. I'm hungry all the time, too! We will persevere!

Cheating on Pre-Op Liver Shrinking Diet
Did your doctor's directions for the liver shrinking diet include chips and guacamole? If not, then yes, it's cheating! I'm allowed plain grilled chicken 2 oz so if you ate plain chicken that's probably ok. Guacamole is high in fat, and the point is low or no fat, and no sugar . All plans are different, but it sounds like cheating!

Does Walmart rotisserie chicken have too much sodium?
I don't know about the sodium, but i can't eat chicken, or regular food until 7 weeks post surgery. I think i can have ground up chicken earlier, though. Ask your team.
