You can have a jeweler put an inexpensive little ring "guard" around them on the inside that makes them a little tighter. I did this last time I dropped a lot of weight. It cost about $5 USD.

I had the same problem. My patient navigator was supposed to give my file to the insurance coordinator on November 26. 2 weeks of waiting and a call to Anthem, and it had not been sent to insurance. Turns out there was som3thing the surgeon had to complete and he had been busy. They finally texted the doctor, he did it, the insurance woman finally sent it to Anthem this past Thursday. So, maybe there is a piece that still needs to be completed. I'd put it in writing and send them a letter if they won't return phone calls. Good luck, and keep us posted.

It really depends. I had blood work, a barium swallow, a cardiac work up with stress test, a psych evaluation and 6 months of supervised nutrition counseling. My bypass should be next month.

Does anyone use Dr. Tishler in Hartford? I'm going nuts waiting for their insurance coordinator to review my file and submit to Anthem! I had my last nutrition visit on November 23rd, and they still haven't sent in my file to insurance. How long does it usually take?? Patience is not my strong suit!!

I haven't had my RNY yet, but from my research it is non-negotiable for both sleeve and RNY patients-- both must take vitamins! RNY just requires more. Do you really want to risk your long term health? It is part of what you signed up for! So, find some vitamins and calcium you like and just do it. [emoji846]

Hi. I'm pre-surgery and hoping to have my bypass in January. I have significant GERD which is mostly controlled by Dexilant and Zantac. I briefly flirted with the idea of the sleeve, but my surgeon won't do it on me because of the reflux. The sleeve has the potential to make reflux worse. Good luck with whatever one you choose!

I've heard good things about the Instant Pot and am thinking of getting one. There are just 2 of us at home. Should I get the 6 quart or 3 quart? If we want to cook a roast is the bigger size better? Any tips or advice? Thanks!

I don't have an official date, but my surgeon's office will submit to insurance this week and they're booking in January! I expect to hear by December 7th.

Didn't your surgeon give you a list of recommended vitamins for before and after surgery? I take Bariatric Advantage Prep vitamins and I'm pre surgery. I use the Bariatric Advantage chewy calcium citrate in caramel flavor. They're delicious.

My surgeon won't do a sleeve on me because my barium swallow showed reflux and moderate dismobility. He said it was likely the reflux would get worse. I am on strong meds for GERD and still have reflux. So it is bypass for me. Good luck with whatever you choose.
