Need recommendations for vitamins/supplements to take while awaiting surgery in a couple months
I took the Bariatric Advantage Prep vitamins for those prepping for surgery. I liked them alot.

First pureed meal
How far post surgery are you? There's no harm in going back to liquids for a week and try purees again then. Not a race, but a marathon. Good luck to you!

??stomach pain..is it really just acid????
I have severe stenosis (stricture) post gastric bypass, and it started at 3 weeks. Worst my surgeon has ever seen. I am now 7 weeks post surgery and just got home from my third endoscopy with dilation to try to stretch it. So, not to scare you, but maybe you have a stricture. Are you nauseous and vomiting? If so, that's a clear sign. Pain, not so much. You could also have an ulcer. Hope it's something simple and you feel better soon.

Return to Work after Surgery
I took 4 weeks off after my gastric bypass. I was happy to have the time, but probably could have gone back after three weeks.

Bypass v’s Sleeve..... help!
I had bypass for the same reasons as Mousecat88. I have or had a sweet tooth and being afraid of dumping will keep me on the straight and narrow. I also had reflux.

Tespo Vitamins
Glad you can tolerate the flavor. I had the Tespo and hated the flavor. Threw my machine in the trash!!

Complications?
I've had complications, but from RNY, not sleeve.

Stall in the soft food stage
When I increased calories a little I lost weight. May want to try 400-500 and see what happens.

No weight loss since surgery!
I gained ten pounds of water weight in the hospital from the IVs. So it took me quite a while to get back to my surgery weight. Maybe you also gained weight in the hospital. Are you walking daily? Getting your protein? I'm a slow loser, so I can sympathize with you.

Knee pain after surgery..
Just want to suggest cortisone injections for your knees. Mine were so bad my life was miserable. I got bilateral injections and the pain went away 100% that was 2.5 months ago, and my knees are still feeling good,

Dog Walking Belt
I have 3 incisions right at my waistline, so I guess we're all different!

Dog Walking Belt
Hmmm. Sounds to me like it would be painful for a week or two. After my bypass my abdomen was quite tender and going over bumps in the car hurt. Now, I realize that is not the same as having 4 dogs leashed to your belly, but, I think you'll be sore. Good luck with your surgery and recovery!

How is MGB different to RNY help
Mikeyy, one thing to consider is that some onsurance companies don't cover the MGB. I dont believe my insurance company covered it.

Energy after surgery?
Hi Ruth9454, I had exactly the same fear, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that life after WLS is not like before WLS. What I mean is that before when I reduced calories I would feel weak and shaky and hungry. After my gastric bypass I have no sensation of hunger and I am consuming between 400 and 500 calories a day and I feel great. Energy is fine, no shaking or weakness or headaches. I can't really explain it, but that's how it is for me.

Sticking my toe in the water...
Hi. I just had RNY gastric bypass 6 weeks ago. Was type 2 diabetic prior to the surgery, but they took me off my 2 diabetes meds immediately and my sugars have been in the 80s and 90s. In the first werk, they went down to 60, but that was improved by having more protein shakes. I also had GERD, which is why I chose the bypass. Good luck to you!

Smoking and ulcers
Hey, from what I just Googled, cigarette smoking is also known to make ulcers more prevalent in "regular" people as well. I don't know WHY, but it seems to be bad for all populations. Glad you're trying to quit. I know it's hard!

med sorting day!
I'm impressed you can get all those down!!! [emoji4]

Applesauce
Yes, unsweetened applesauce is a full liquid. I'd avoid the sweetened ones.

Update on my stricture and second endoscopy
Thanks, gabybab! I'm trying to keep my chin up!! I just read that 1/3 of patients with marginal ulcers and stricture need to have a revision to the RNY to re-do the connection. I really don't want another surgery!!

Update on my stricture and second endoscopy
Hi, Froufrou, my weight loss has been pretty slow compared to others. Im 6 weeks out and have lost 22 pounds. I think my body is clinging on to every pound. I consume about 450 calories a day in the form of protein shakes. Your surgeon can do an upper GI series to determine if you have a stricture. I hope you don't!!

Stricture- How do you deal with the awful feeling you're going to throw up?
Thanks, Steven! I needed that encouragement today as second endoscopy was a failure.

Update on my stricture and second endoscopy
Thanks, I made a typo! It was supposed to say, "if" repeat endoscopies dont work... then we'll have to re-operate. Sorry for any confusion [emoji4]

Update on my stricture and second endoscopy
Well, I'm feeling a wee bit discouraged. Had my second endoscopy today. First one was ten days ago. Surgeon said I was the worst case he had ever seen in 19 years of practice. Not a statistic I wanted to hear. They couldn't perform any stretching because of ulcerations and swelling, so he gave me a large dose of steroids and they woke me up. They want to get the opening to 11 mm, and mine is around 8 right now. They can't get the 9mm scope thru the opening. He says is repeat endoscopies don't work we will have to wait 4 months and re operate to redo the connection between my pouch and intestines.
