  1. I have Anthem BCBS and I believe about 5 days for an approval. Good luck!!
  2. Yup. I get up to pee 1-2 times a night!!
  3. I had to do 6 consecutive visits with a nutritionist Not a PCP. At my appointments we went thru my food diary, took my weight, talked about diet and exercise. I couldnt3miss one visit or I would hav to start over. Perhaps yours will be similar. You should check with your i insurance carrier if this is their requirement. Good luck on your journey.
  4. Yes! I have no cravings as of yet. I think of eating right now as a "prescription " and I'm just following my doctor's plan. I have no hunger, which surprised me.
  5. Hi, and welcome! I had the gastric bypass 2 months ago, and am happy that I chose the bypass. My diabetes is in remission and I'm off meds for it. You're smart to want to learn all you can. And this board is full of wonderful people with great advice. Take care
  6. I believe infection until the incisions are totally healed.
  7. Some doctors ask that you avoid caffeine. Others don't care. Check with your team.
  8. Yes, keep going. Hopefully it will all work out, but it was your responsibility, not the doctor's, to confirm coverage. GreenTealael is right, there are lots of reasons for a denial.
  9. GradyCat is right. There are so many factors, only you and your surgeon can determine which surgery is right for you. There are posts which discuss people's reasons for the surgery they chose. You may find them useful in starting a discussion with your surgeon. Either way, surgery is an awesome, life changing opportunity! Good luck!
  10. I have one itsy bitsy one on my sternum and five others on my belly. The 5 are about an inch or so.
  11. Thank you, anaxila. That's good advice.
  12. Thank you, GradyCat! Appreciate the advice.
  13. I'm 2 months post gastric bypass and have been sedentary for years. Since the surgery I have been walking every morning, and I decided to join a gym! I have never been to a gym before. Tonight is my first appointment with the personal Trainer. Any tips, suggestions, advice? I feel kinda self conscious.
  14. Can't your insurance company give you a list of PCPs in your area?
  15. 18 pounds in a month is awesome! Be proud of your hard work, and relax about the weight loss. Follow your plan and you'll do fine.
  16. I've heard medicaid covers wls. You meet the standard requirements for most insurance carriers, which is a BMI of 40 with no comorbidities or a BMI of 35 with 2 comorbidities. I don't know about your specific situation, but really hope you qualify. It's life changing!! Good luck.
  17. My surgeon said 6 weeks.
  18. I'm 2 months post gastric bypass and my type 2 diabetes is in remission. They took me off my 2 diabetes meds the day of my surgery. I pray your diabetes goes into remission. Too.
  19. Yup. I have Anthem BCBS and had to do 6 monthly nutrition sessions, along with a psych evaluation. From when I first had my consultation with surgeon to the day of surgery it was 10 months.
  20. Lol! I can do that at home, but not at work or church!!
  21. I have severe arthritis in my knees, and arthritis in my hands and back, and I just had gastric bypass 2 months ago. I know I will never be able to take NSAIDS again. I had cortisone injections in noth knees, which helped tremendously. I also use Diclofenac cream, and there may be meds you can take which don't irritate the pouch lining. I thought long and hard about surgery because I'd be giving up my meds. Losing weight has helped my joints. It is good you're thinking about this now. Good luck with whatever you choose.
  22. No. I had liquids for 2 weeks, purees for 2 weeks, soft foods one week, then regular food.
  23. Congratulations! I hit it the other day. As well!!
