  1. 10 weeks. My problems started at 3.5 weeks
  2. Great job! You can definitely see the difference!!
  3. Wow! Great job! You look awesome, Congratulations!!
  4. Have you tried Melatonin? It works well, or maybe you should ask your doctor.... try to be more active. It will help you sleep. Good luck !
  5. I don't drink alcohol, so I can't comment on not feeling well, but my surgeon doesn't recommend that bariatric patients drink alcohol for that very reason. We metabolize the alcohol very quickly.
  6. Oh, I am also taking Pantoprazole twice a day
  7. Hi. No side effects. I have had four endoscopies to dilate my stricture and check on the progress of the ulcers. Still very inflammed. Im going back for my 5th one end of this month. I take it 20 minutes before each meal on an empty stomach, and at bedtime.
  8. Yes, I am on liquid Carafate 4 times a day for the treatment of marginal ulcers in my anastomosis. (I had RNY gastric bypass. ) Ive had no problems with it. I've been on it for 5 weeks, with no end in sight!
  9. Bypass. It's the "gold standard ".
  10. Nalgene wide mouth bottles so I can get them really clean. Narrower mouth bottles are harder to keep clean. Also, they are BPA free.
  11. Like everyone is saying, ask your surgeon. I will tell you that my surgeon would not operate on smokers or anyone who used tobacco products. It really messes with the healing process. Surgeons like successful patients, and you'll be more successful if you're not smoking. I know it's hard!!
  12. Hello and welcome! What an awesome CEO!! Best wishes for a smooth surgery on Monday and an event free recovery! You'll probably find that the post surgery discomfort isnt as bad as you imagine. Congratulations on your weight loss so far.
  13. Hmmm. I really don't want to scare you, but it sounds like a stricture. You can get an upper GI xray and it will show if you have a stricture. You need to get your doctor to take you seriously! Ask him if he thinks you have a stricture. Please take care. You can always pm me if you want.
  14. Kitty0422, how far post surgery are you? What type of surgery did you have? I have a stricture and I am 10 weeks post RNY gastric bypass. My problems started around 3 1/2 weeks post op. I was incredibly nauseous and had pressure in my throat and pouch. I could not tolerate shakes or anything. Do you have any symptoms besides vomiting?
  15. Thanks, RickM. Always appreciate your advice.
  16. Following. You guys have some great tips!
  17. They may give you something to prevent nausea. Good luck!!
  18. Thanks, FluffyChix. I was thinking that's what I should do, too. I also had RNY.
  19. Hi. You might get more replies if you started a new thread with your question. Are you chosing between MGB and bypass?
  20. So my nutritionist recommends 1500 mg a day of Calcium citrate but the group's PA says 1000 is fine. I've been taking 1000, but now I'm wondering if 1500 would be better....what are you taking?
  21. Hi. My reflux is gone! Pain killers usually make me nauseous, but I took Dilauded in the hospital, and since they were also giving me Zofran every 6 hours for nausea anyway I was fine. I needed the Dilauded while I was in the hospital for 2 nights/3 days.
  22. I'm 5'3" and had bypass at 228 lbs 10 weeks ago. I also had GERD/acid reflux. I'm happy with my choice.
  23. Yes! I am exactly 10 weeks post gastric bypass, and have the same problem!! I'm still on protein shakes (complications) and it doesn't rumble and gurgle on the shakes, but if I eat any real food the crazy noises start. Very embarrassing! I hope we ger some advice, because I don't know what to do about it!!
  24. Our team has the exact same plan for RNY and sleeve patients, too.
