  1. I love their recipes and the fact that they include the nutritional info. I don't have a recipe box yet, but I guess I'll start one. Thanks for sharing!
  2. That would be a liquid, but double-check the label. Most yogurt drinks I've seen have a lot of sugar. But even when something is liquid, always count the protein, too.
  3. Congrats on your surgery, sounds like you're doing well. I'd start a little "softer" than a meatball. Maybe a soft-scrambled egg, applesauce or mashed potatoes. Good luck!
  4. Welcome to the site. The community is very helpful and friendly! When do you expect to have surgery?
  5. My favorite protein water is Protein2O. They're not as sweet as the others. I really like the coconut flavor.
  6. I found that my brain "recognized" broths as a "meal" and gave me a sense of satiety. Sweet drinks didn't do this. SF Jello also retained some of it's "solidity" and helped me feel like I'd actually eaten something.
  7. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time of it. I hope they get the nausea sorted out. Diarrhea for 6 weeks is dreadful. Have you been taking probiotics? If the docs gave you any antibiotics during your surgery time (not unusual), you might need to reset the good bacteria in your intestines. Have the docs had you switch up your protein? Maybe to something plant based? You could have a temporary sensitivity to whey or other milk products.
  8. Because there's no calories getting to your brain right now!
  9. Dilute with unsweetened Almond or coconut milk? or add 1 cup of cold, decaf coffee for an iced latte?
  10. I am so sorry that you went through this. When you go back for your blood work, bring 3 copies of your post with you. Stop in and tell the PA that you need a moment of her time and that her "friends" need to join you. Give them each a copy of your post and add a p.s. at the bottom to them know if you ever hear the slightest hint that this behavior has been repeated, you will report them to the surgeon, the office manager and maybe even post it on YELP. Remind them that patients DO talk. You don't have to say a word, then walk out with your head high. If the PA won't meet with you, go straight to the surgeon and office manager. You've dealt with enough sh!t in your life. You don't need to deal with theirs, too.
  11. Just don't tell me that's a seafood fork!
  12. Even though you're at your "forever" stage, you're not fully up to speed yet. Each week, you'll be able to eat a bit more until you can hit your targets. If you really want to hit 85g, try protein waters, rather than shakes. They won't fill you up and you need the liquids, anyway. I like Protein2O, myself.
  13. An Irish setter, a human head and a rack of baby back ribs! I love this game!
  14. Congrats! Looking good! How're you feeling?
  15. I'm 59, was sleeved 2/26/18. I'm down exactly 80 lb. since I started the pre-op diet on 2/16/18. Can't complain! My weight loss has slowed to about a pound a week now, but it's still progress! Good luck on your journey!
  16. I did a pureed cauliflower soup that was delicious! Didn't have any problems.
  17. OMGosh, yes! Look at your arms and face! Wonderful!
  18. If I only logged the numbers, by the time I got to the end of the day I'd probably forget something. Plus, if for instance, I made a soup and calculated a serving to be 118 calories and 5g protein, I have that for reference when I pull it out of the freezer later. Also, if you start to struggle and want to talk to your NUT, he/she will want to see the whole log, not just a list of numbers.
  19. Yes, the gas and fluids in your stomach are trying to squeeze through the little openings left because of the swelling. As the swelling goes down, this quiets down a lot. It probably won't go away totally, but it does improve.
  20. When my husband and I met, we were working for the same company. Before we started dating, he had seen me lose around 30 pounds. I got down to about 150. He was 6'1", 145 pounds. When we started dating, he had said how impressed he was that I had lost the weight and how he hadn't "noticed" me before that. (Yeah, I knew how to interpret that one.) At that point, we had maybe been going out for a few weeks. I told him then that if my weight was a big deal to him, he needed to move along right now. I couldn't promise that I would never regain the weight. He decided to stay. In the 29 years that we've been married, I've gained and lost hundreds of pounds. He has always been there for me, regardless. He's my biggest cheerleader now. I am blessed.
  21. OK, I'm curious. Are you part vampire? You do all your eating at night?
  22. How long ago was your surgery? If you've just started on soft foods, two eggs was probably way too much.
  23. There's no magic window. It can develop months or even years later. My reflux started immediately. I'm on prescription omeprazole 2x/day, and TUMS as needed. Surgeon will decide before the end of the year if I need a revision to bypass.
