  1. Definitely a question for your surgeon.
  2. I don't know anyone who's had their appendix out, so I'll take your word on that one!
  3. I love that style of kayak! So much fun! Glad you're back into it!
  4. I'd avoid them real close to surgery because your tender tummy will be very sensitive to that little extra bit of air. Once you've healed some, you likely won't have a problem with straws. I use them all the time.
  5. You actually need to do both. In order to get your protein numbers correct, that needs to be measured by weight. But then, make sure the entire volume of your meal doesn't exceed the "volume" number you want. For example, if you're only wanting to eat 1/2 cup of food/meal - weigh out the protein you want to eat, put it in the measuring cup, then fill the rest of the cup with your veggies/sides. Does that make sense?
  6. Now you're extra-concentrated sweetness!
  7. I've seen them refuse because you didn't lose enough weight, but I haven't seen a refusal if the person developed GERD, but I guess there are some out there.
  8. Focus on things that count for both fluids and protein: Protein shakes, protein water, broth with added protein powder, yogurt, etc. That's the best way to hit your numbers in the beginning when you can't get too much down. Good luck!
  9. I think the most telling proof for the low percentage of revisions is insurance. If there were a significant number of revisions, insurance companies would drop the sleeve like a hot potato and just require RNY to begin with. They don't.
  10. Do you want 3 bottles for free? Message me! They're in my fridge and I'm not going to use them.
  11. Wow, what a difference! Congrats!
  12. If you're on soft foods you could try this: https://www.skinnytaste.com/zucchini-pizza-bites/ It might help with the cravings. But good for you to reach out for help!
  13. Wow! Congrats! That's super fast weight loss! You look great!
  14. No, mine was Feb. 26 in Arlington. Good luck to you!
  15. I like the Protein2O at Sam's club. I don't find it as sweet as some of the others. I don't know where else it's available.
  16. I understand. Realistic expectations are very important.
  17. Welcome to the boards! This is a very supportive community and we're glad you're here!
  18. Fluffy was just explaining how the calculations are done. Not advocating what weight the poster should reach.
  19. I just showed my husband your pics as I read your responses, and he said "Wow, what a transformation! She's beautiful!"
  20. You're better off focusing on things you can control. Like a goal to stay totally on plan for 6 weeks. You may very well lose 20 or more pounds the first six weeks. But it's also possible to be completely perfect on your plan and to lose less. Focus on healthy decisions, not numbers, imho. Good luck, and I hope you lose 25!
  21. OMGosh, LOOK AT YOU! You look fabulous! Congrats!
  22. Totally agree! Doesn't it make you wonder how many people gave you false hope for diet and exercise? And then, you felt like a failure later?
