Heading out to grab a bite to eat & a beer ?
  6. @ms.sss, since you are into salads, what about full fat dressings? I love premium ranch as a veggie dip, or on a salad.
  7. Roasted Brussels & Gnocchi in a Meat Ragu
  8. The consults were interesting. Both surgeons were very nice and professional, but a bit unintentionally brutal. *Pinching side boob area* ... "Does this bother you?" *Prodding saggy knees* ... "Is this an area of concern?" Ummm ... well not really, but now that you mention it
  9. Ok, so I'm starting some online, virtual, phone consults. It involves me taking naked selfies in my hotel room ? This process has made me realize I'm more self conscience about my body than I fully realized. I had originally wished my bf could attend the consultations with me. Once I was there, naked, poked & prodded, I was glad he wasn't. Then for these photos I have to submit, it would be way easier for him to take the pics of me, rather than selfies. But I'm not comfortable with that. I know my bf finds me attractive as is. He sees some of my flaws, like boobs and stomach. But I know he doesn't notice my butt or thighs as much.
  10. It is somewhat of a concern for me. But I'm also naturally an optimist, and have zero health issues, and never have. Some surgeons offer this: https://cosmetassure.com/for-the-patient/ (my lower priced quote did, ironically) That would give me some peace of mind. I also have an ex who is an MD, so he would be able to help me as much as he can, at the minimum giving me advice & calling in prescriptions. Going to MX worries me a lot more than going to a US based post bariatic surgery specialist.
  11. Agree! You really need to find a protein you can tolerate. There are tons of options beyond powdersc and shakes at the BariatricPal store. Also many (most?) of us don’t love the shakes and powders, but we do it because we have to. Sometimes you just have to suck it up for your health!
  12. Don’t hold yourself back from living life to the fullest. I guarantee you your loose skin is a FAR bigger deal to you, than anyone you might meet.
  13. Checking in! I’m not going to be able to weigh in at the end of the month. But before I left town I was maintaining below 130. I’m visiting a great food city, so i think I very well may be over 130 when I return. If so, no regrets, totally worth it ? I’m killing it with walking lately. I’ve walked over a mile 24/28 days. I’ll just talk about the days I did do the happiness challenges! I did NOT make cookies, which I’m changing the task to. I’m calling that a win because I have a box of brownie mix calling my name I’ve enjoyed getting out and enjoying some beautiful weather, so I’ll call that nature. I’ve been in exclusively urban areas lately Try a new restaurant, lol, definitely check that one off, repeatedly Spend time with family, done Relax for 30 minutes, done I will participate halfheartedly in a September challenge, just like I have this one ?

Heading out to a casual dinner
  15. Thanks for all the insights everyone! I'm really glad I went to the two local, free consults. I have a much better idea of what procedures I want and don't want now. Thanks for all the out of state recommendations. I'll go digging around the pics and reviews for all of them!
  16. Similar breakouts Mine were like this Surgery #1 LBL (incl circumferential tummy tuck, lipo, monsplasty, front & outer thigh lift) - $$$$$ Butt Augmentation - $$$ Inner thigh lift - $$$ Pain pump - $ Compression garments - $ Surgery Center - $$ Anesthesia - $$ Suction Vac - $$ Surgery #2 Breast Lift & Augmentation - $$S Implant - $$ Pain pump - $ Compression garments - $ Surgery Center - $$ Anesthesia - $$ Suction Vac - $$ The quote from the second surgeon included 2 nights in a recovery center post LBL as well.
  17. I'll be digging into his before and afters @Healthy_life2! His pricing looks to be pretty affordable. It's hard to tell on what they consider a procedure, would it be $10-$15K and it includes everything listed? So a total of $20K - $30K. If so that would be quite the deal! Upper body (Liposuction, breast lift, tummy tuck, arm lift) Lower body (Liposuction, butt lift, thigh lift, lower body lift) One thing that seems unusual is the tummy tuck is included with the upper body lift, instead of lower body lift. I'm not sure what to think about that one.

Had the palazzo pants altered so I can wear w flats. Going on their inaugural flight!
  19. Thanks @catwoman7! Dr. Fisher in San Antonio is the surgeon who is retiring. Dr. Capella was already on my radar. Good to know you weren't shocked by his pricing. I was leery since he services the NYC area. I just looked up Dr. Michaels in DC, I assume Dr. Joseph Michaels? Also on my radar is Dr. Hurwitz in Pittsburgh. Can I have the name of your surgeon in Chicago? DM me if you prefer! Thanks so much!

I love me some patterened pants, I'm semi obsessed with them honestly! But the skinny jeans are more flattering on you. Love the sandals w the skinnies as well!
  23. Sooo, I did two consults last week. I went with the two first that didn't charge consultation fees. Even regardless of the fees, they were my top 2 choices from pics and reviews online. The good news is they both had nearly identical recommendations. They were both kind and professional, and I felt like they really listened to what I want. In speaking to the surgeons, here is my revised wants list Lower Body Lift - this would include tummy tuck, lipo, outer and front of thigh lift, monsplasty, and fat transfer for butt lift. Inner Thigh Lift - could be combined with LBL & would be a good compromise to have a concealed scar vs the more extensive scar of a medial thigh lift. Breast Lift & Augmentation - both surgeons said this would have to be a separate procedure, unable to combine with the LBL due to time under anesthesia & surgeon fatigue. Both did not recommend the teardrop gummy bear. They said it works better in theory than IRL, and I can get more natural results with traditional round silicone implant. Both said recovery time would only be 2 weeks of no traveling. So that makes it possible to just slip this surgery in sometime next year. But I will probably look for a plastic surgeon that specialized in BA/BL vs one who specializes in massive weight loss. BL/BA's are so common & i don't think my breasts are significantly different than a women's who had children & breastfed, I could find a more convenient and potentially less expensive option. The bad news is, surgeon #1's quote was INSANELY high. Like I could buy a small house in Kansas for that kind of money. Surgeon #2's quote was significantly less crazy, but still a big chunk of change. The more I look at surgeon's #2 pics, and after the consult, I'm leaning away from going with him. He only does weight loss patients. Therefore he does a lot of My 600 lb Life type stuff. He seems more focused on removing skin and fat, then true body contouring, if that makes sense? I just don't know if I would be aesthetically happy with my body afterwards. Contrast that with surgeon #1's extreme focus on aesthetics. I am confident I'd get the best results with surgeon #1, but the cost seems unreasonable. So I'm broadening my search to other surgeons in the country that specialize in massive weight loss. The LBL & thigh lift are not very common outside of post bariatrics, so I want a specialist for those. I contacted my #1 out of state choice for a consultation, and learned he is retiring and not scheduling any new surgeries The pressure is on to book a procedure. Understandably my December time frame is very popular, and I absolutely need to have my procedure done in a pretty small window due to wok commitments. I'm a little disheartened by the process right now

Thanks everyone. It is actually a romper. A romper to me feels like skinny people clothes Funny, I was going to wear the long green t shirt dress again, make it my official food fest outfit ? I put it on and my bf looked at my puzzled ..."Is that from before you lost weight?" Guess he didn't think it was very flattering!
