  1. The needing to burp thing gradually went away with me. Then when I could burp it was like it came from clear down in my knees. Our Doctor told us they absolutely DID NOT want us to throw up. I would call the doctor and let them advise you on that.
  2. I have lost the equivalent of one of my grandkids. It would be like carrying them around on my hip all day, MY POOR BACK!!!!!
  3. Have you had a fill? If so, maybe you need a slight unfill. Maybe stay on liquids til you see the Doctor too. I have read that on here. You may be inflamed and swollen some. Definitely call the Doc, my Doctor degree expired a long time ago! LOL
  4. I have started going to an Arthritis swim class. Swimming has always given me the munchies, so I am taking a granola or protein bar with me to eat on the way home. And of course my water.
  5. Too late to be added to the list, I cant believe there are more than 200 August people.
  6. Somehow I lost contact with other August bandsters. I have been eating things I know I shouldnt. I went on a girls vacation ate wrong and still managed to lose 3 1/2 lbs over about 10 days. I am certainly not back up to my presurgery eating habits, but am afraid I am slipping backwards. I have had 1 fill and am going in 10-22 for the second one. Hope it gives me some restriction, I feel like right now I am using will power only.
  7. I was banded 8-8. Have had 1 fill and have an appt 10-22 for another. I am not restricted at all, and like you I feel like I could eat anything. I am eating things that I know I shouldnt but am trying to hang in there til Monday. Last time I weighed (10-15) I was still losing although just 1 1/2lbs. So I guess I am not over the edge just yet!
  8. Hi Barb, doing OK. Even lost while I was on vacation. I was shocked. I need to go get another fill though. I have an appointment Monday. Glad to hear you are out and about!!
  9. Has anyone heard from UN5-3051? Havent seen anything from her on here in quite awhile, hope everything is OK with her.
  10. Thanks I tried again yesterday and it loaded. Congrats on your success!
  11. Wendall, I have tried several times to look at your before and after photos. They wont download.Any suggestions?? Always enjoy your informative posts! Thanks
  12. Goodluck on your surgery this week. And congrats on your preop weightloss!
  13. There are several threads here for lapband vs bypass, you might do a search. Lots of pros and cons brought out. One is that recoup time will be longer for bypass.....my son is in Iraq for his 3rd deployment. My heart goes out to you. Take care
  14. YEAH JEANETTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on 90!!
  15. Each doctor does have different instructions. My Doc had me on solid soft food at about a week. Cottage cheese and eggs never tasted so good! Hang in there.
  16. I was visiting with my grandkids last week and the daughter-in-law had cooked dinner (thats unusual in itself) I had taken a bite of garlic bread...chew chew chew...woops....a HAIR! ! ! ! Out came the whole bite with a 12in hair attached. DIL almost threw up, I apologized, but it was HER hair. Gag me, thats what I got for trying to eat bread!
  17. Just posted this on another thread. Medicare wouldnt pay my hospital stay because on lapband they only cover the hospital bill if it is an overnite stay. The hospital says they are writing it off. I hope they pay the surgeon bill!
  18. Just an FYI. I had surgery 8-8-07 at a Center of Excellence. Medicare would not pay the hospital bill because they said with lapband they only cover the hospital if it is an overnite stay. How much sense does that make? So far the hospital says they wrote off the whole $20,000+. So just beware. I havent heard from the surgeons office, hopefully Medicare did cover that, if not I am in a heap of hurt.
  19. In the words of Elvis....."Thank you..thank you very much."
  20. I am excited. Went on a girls vacation and was gone almost 2 weeks and drumroll please............I LOST 3 LBS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I have lost a total of 30 since this all started YEAH ! ! ! THANKS I had to share that!
  21. Means sterile strips. I did cut mine with little scissors as they became detached, but thats it. Let them come off completely on their own. My worst scars are from the staples. I am sure it wont look any worse than my gallbladder or breast biopsy scar.
  22. It is gallbladder removal surgery.
  23. Good luck Tuesday, check out the guys only thread on here.
