Surgery Set for Tuesday

two more days.......Finally...after fighting with Blue Cross for three months....I am finally approved and ready to go....at 465lbs...to me, this is my last chance so I'm determined not to blow it....but I'm still scared silly. What if it doesn't work ?....I know the band is just a tool to "help" you lose weight and you still have to practice behavior modification. But if I WAS disciplined , I wouldn't be where I am today...my wife and daughter are very supportive but they simply cant be expected to understand where I am or what this means. I sit here and wonder....can I do this ?...will I be disciplined ?....what is a realistic goal for a guy at my weight in 6 months....a year...two years ?....I'm tired of feeling like a freak....tired of being restricted in what I do.....

I was the most run-amuck food cramming undisciplined individual you'd ever see. I yo-yo dieted all my life (I should be given a Life-Membership at Weight Watchers SIMPLY for the number of times I have joined!) I've done every diet in the world (half-assed, I might add). I am like an alcoholic who says "I'll drink to that!" whenever someone says they need to stop. Discipline???? HAHAHAHAHA!!! So it was with a dose of trepidation that I had my band put in. WHOA!!!!! I am astounded at my ability to change my behavior. Almost 4 months out and I am OVER 50% to goal. I plateau and lose and plateau and lose and on it goes. I have ZERO regrets and KNOW I have saved my own life.
