  1. Some on the board here have said...to lay with pillows under your stomach for support, head down, butt up and it helps release it that way. good luck
  2. Could you have acid reflux? Do you have a recliner, if so try sleeping in that. At least til you can see a Dr. I have a friend that gets reflux, she props herself up in bed with 3-4 pillows behind her head. Good Luck
  3. Uniqueone thanks, and I saw the surgeon today. I HAVE A DATE!! AUG 1 !!!! YEAH !!!!!
  4. The only reason for the delay was because I was in "Insurance Hell". I was ready in 2005!!!!! I AM READY!!!
  5. My very first seminar was 11-2005......DRUM ROLL PLEASE.......................... I HAVE A August 1 surgery date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I lost 7lbs since I saw the Psychologist 1 month ago!! YEAH!!!
  6. Yes goodluck today!!
  7. I am not banded yet, but I went to a support meeting the other night. There was a lady there 58yrs old, has lost 180lbs in about 2 yrs with lapband. She even passed around her new and old drivers license. She said she has stuck strictly to the rules and she is going to Curves now. I didnt get a chance to talk to her after the meeting. But she looked good. I was really encouraged because I have head as we get older it is so much harder to lose. Also, I have been investigating this since April 2005. I was totally decided with getting the band. Then somehow got on this gastric bypass kick. But, most people I know that have had that look sick, just like you said. I am sticking with the band, because it is less invasive. Good luck
  8. Hi..reading your protein shake questions. My favorite is GNC 100% whey powder..chocolate carmel. YUMMO. 1 scoop protein mix 1 container light yogurt 1/2 container skim milk 1/2 glass crushed ice I put all this in the blender Dont have the figures here at the desk but you get protein from the powder and yogurt both. Its like a malt. SOOO good And Welcome to the UNJURY Homepage I have tried the vanilla and chocolate. Both good. Not banded yet but I have been trying different ones so I can have what I like on hand at home.
  9. Great..I get to see my surgeon Monday. Hopefully can get my surgery scheduled also!!
  10. Maybe the excitement was in the chase. Dont get discouraged now. My first seminar was Nov/Dec 2005. I see the surgeon Monday and am hoping to get a date. Maybe I will be a Lucky 7 too!! Hope so.
  11. Donna...where are you?? Our local GNC's dont give samples??
  12. I married 7yrs after I moved to KC. We are both retired now, I dont see us moving back to Spfld. Both of my parents are gone now, but I do have 2 brothers that still live there. I have completely lost contact with the friends I had there. I am waiting for insurance approval right now and they wont even let you see the surgeon until they have that in hand. I know i will be approved, I have 3 insurances and 2 cover lapband. My BMI is definitely there,so I know it will be approved. The insurance person at the Dr's office I go to IMO is dragging her feet. This has been a VERY nerve racking journey thus far. Do you know any 50yr olds that have had the surgery there?
  13. Hopefully by the time your surgeon appt comes around you will have an "All clear". That would be a bummer to have surgery postponed for an infected hooha hair!
  14. Hi, I live in Leavenworth KS, but was born in Spfld. Lived there til 1980 when I moved to KC to get a job. I was a single Mom and couldnt find a good paying job there, so moved to Kansas City. I consider Springfield home, still have family that lives there. It amazes me when we come down there how spread out things have gotten. Do the weightloss Dr's or the hospital have a support group there in town?
  15. Thats not good to hear. I am 52 and waiting to get a surgery date. You had your surgery about the same age I am going to. This worries me because I know for us "older gals" its not going to come off as easy or fast. Can you exercise? I would have thought PCOS would be found during child-bearing years only since it has to do with your ovaries.. I hope someone has some tips for you to help get you restarted.
  16. I know you had been pushing for this to be done while you still had the current insurance. Does this work out for that??
  17. 63lbs....way to go...that is great!!!
  18. Tracy...30lbs that is awesome. Congratulations!!!!!!!! I hadnt seen any posts from you in awhile, so I went looking for you. That is a great loss!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Carol thats 23lbs you didnt gain! Congrats!!!!
  20. Be sure to get in your protein or you could possibly start losing your hair.
  21. Oh where oh where has the members list gone...or where or where can it be??????????????????????????????????
  22. Anything Pink Floyd, Enya, Sarah McLachlan
  23. WOW ericsmom...less than a year and you have lost 100lbs.Congrats to you.
  24. You need to get assertive. Thats what I had to do here to get my Psych approval. What if your next insurance doesnt cover the band? Start calling every other day and ask about cancellations, jump on them now!!
