  1. Riley....I've known some older people that feel, since they are older they have the right to speak to people any way they want. Screw that, everyone should have manners. That was plain rude. Dont let that stop you from doing something so neat with your daughter, and fun exercise to boot.
  2. If you wear them into surgery, who knows if they take them off and put them back on while you are out! YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW!! I think I will wear my rhinestone crotchless thong, they will get a BIG OLE surprise!
  3. OK...I did the seminar...MEW I dont know if I saw you or not. My husband and I were the 1st ones there for insurance q/a time. The person that turned me off last time did an exceptional job of the same thing tonite. She even pissed off my husband and that takes a lot. How much do we come in contact with the ladies that get the insurance ok's AFTER we get approval. I really dont know if I can do her. She talked down to me and she has this belittling look on her face when you try to talk to her. I know I am going to have the surgery, that decision is made. It's either going to be with Hoehn or Tallgrass in Topeka. Tallgrass doesnt have the approval yet that my primary insurance requires. Shawnee Msn is closer to us. PLEASE someone tell me I wont have to come in contact with the person much after I get approval. I think she needs to do her sensitivity training again. HELP!!!!
  4. Tonight I go for the seminar at Shawnee Msn. This is my second with them. I hope I can push this thing through since I have been waiting since early last year. Anyone had surgery with Hitchcock or Hoehn lately? How long was your wait to get a surgery date? I hope I dont have to do a BUNCH of Sabapathy appointments. I like him...but I think I am as sane as I can be! And I have this forum to help me!
  5. People that pass you on the road JUST to to turn at the next intersection or exit. People that dont pay their bills and complain about having no money....but they have fake nails! HELLO, where are your priorities! HUSBANDS that dont buy their wives anything for their birthday but spend $400 on themselves that week! People in the checkout line that wait to start fumbling in their purse after the total has been wrung up. Did you not know you were gonna have to pay for all that. People that b*tch and grip and go on..and on...and on.....
  6. Also Gas X also comes in a chewable. And anyone reading this that hasnt had surgery yet (me) needs to remember.....one of the girls here said she told the anesthesiologist (misspelled i know) to push as much gas out before they were done with her. So maybe we need to do that. I have had shoulder pain from the gas after a surgery and it is no fun!
  7. Have you thought of seeing a Chiropractor. I know some people dont believe in them. But it could just be that you are all out of place. I have went to them for years due to a bad back. I have a herniated disc and just this week had to go see mine. He had me feeling 80% better in 2 visits. You might try that before exploratory surgery. Good Luck...hope you get to feeling better without surgery.
  8. I will probably be known as the mean grandma. When the kids are here we have some behavior problems but nothing like they have at the other grandparents or at home. The other grandma says they know we make them behave when they are here. We dont give in after 5 times of asking like gets done at home. But they always want to come home with us, so they must like something about staying with us. And we have one that will ask for a certain thing to eat..take one bite..then be done. That REALLY aggravates my husband.
  9. I have chose to keep this a secret from most people that know me. I have not even told my parents yet. I plan on telling them soon, but I know that they will not think this is the right thing and that I haven't tried hard enough on my own. I really need the support and encouragement that I see shown on this forum. No one knows unless they walk in OUR shoes! I am in the process. I went to my original seminar 11-05. Due to insurance problems I have not joined the "Band" yet. I am hoping soon. This is the greatest website. I have been lurking here and posting for quite sometime. Everyone is so willing to share experiences and advice. And to see how everyone has done on the tickers its great. Look around there are meal and recipe suggestions too, which I find really neat.Good Luck!
  10. Travelgirl......how long has it taken for you to get a surgery date?? Once you got serious....to......surgery date? Goodluck Monday
  11. Good for you. Congratulations for choosing to be healthy so you will be around for your little one!
  12. check out this guy...he had some recipes http://www.92inches.com/
  13. Your getting banded on "Groundhogs Day" thats my birthday!
  14. I only sleep in the nude if I get woke up by a hot flash! But I also hate getting tangled up in a nightgown too.
  15. [quote Dr. Hoehn did my surgery. I think he's a wonderful surgeon, but I've had some challenges with some of his staff. But I'd still go back to him. Dr. Hitchcock did the last info night so Dr. Hoehn *I think* would do the next one. Hitchcock did the seminar I went to, back in 11-05 so I've seen him. I hope Hoehn does this one. I have seen pictures of him but not seen him in person. I know last year I was told to come get my records because they wouldnt be able to work with me for awhile due to my insurance. When I picked them up..this certain person in the office got a little uppity with me. I had decided to not ever go back. BUT, they are the only place right now I can get this surgery. So, I will swallow my pride because I want this SO BAD!
  16. 2bthinagain - have we talked before? I'm in KCMO. Are you in KS or MO? Do you have a surgeon picked out? Wheetsin......we have talked before. I have lurked and posted some. I have been coming here since 11-05 AND waiting for a facility and Dr to be covered under my insurance. Now, finally... Dr Hoehn and Shawnee Msn are covered. So I have to go to ANOTHER of their seminars Monday Feb 5. I have all my records I am taking with me. Letters from my Dr's. I am gonna look like TracyinKS when I go in there! She has her ducks in a row. Thats gonna be me. I wanna get the ball rolling here. I wish I could get a surgery date or at least a surgeon appt. We will see. I follow alot of you guys and read your posts. I have learned so much here and have gotten alot of encouragement from all of you! I am keeping my fingers crossed for Monday. And I live in Leavenworth- Home of the BIG HOUSE
  17. Heh way to go......congrats. I am anxious to see how fast you get a surgery date!
  18. MEW....thats a MONDAY??? Feb 5 right...I thot Monday sounded weird I was thinking they did Tues? I will have to check my calendar.
  19. Look for me there...I'll be the fat one!! LOL (sorry, I have a weird sense of humor!!) THATS what I was gonna say! You took the words right out of my mouth.
  20. Hello, saw your above note. BC/BS that covers the Auto plant here in Kansas City HAS started covering lapband here. Unless your particular policy has an exclusion I would start the fight.
  21. I attend my first seminar at Feb 5th at the Bariatric Center of Kansas City!!! MEW......I will be attending the same seminar. I have been to their seminar back in Nov 05. But since the insurance thing isnt an obstacle now I am ready to get the ball rolling again. They said since it had been so long I had to attend again. I was hoping there was seminar this week so we could get going. I am hoping for no more snafu's.
