I was talking to my husband about this exact thing the other day. He said but wouldnt you rather have that and be able to walk around and be healthier. All the skin, thats something I have been worrying about lately too.

Maybe they dont want us to be so full of liquid that we dont eat our protein. Thats my thinking.

The Dr that I am going to have do my band gives you a card that says you have a lapband. It's to be used at buffets and such, so some of the businesses let you have the childs price.

Thanks for your input, I just worry. Seems like now everytime I shower I lose wads of hair. I just cant imagine losing more. I do take vitamins now, so that wont be a problem afterwards.

Even though she says no parties..I believe your birthday is the only day that is just for you. That should be your day. Maybe you could have a few really close friends/family meet you both for dinner somewhere. BYOD (buy your own dinner) Dont do what my husband did for my 50th! Two weeks before my 50th we had bought a new rug for our living room. Not a throw rug..an area rug. It was about $200 I think. Well, my birthday came and went...nothing. I was livid. Finally I broke down in tears and had a screaming fit. He said he thought the rug was for my birthday. I SAID NO THE RUG WAS FOR THE HOUSE. A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR MY 50th BIRTHDAY SHOULD BE SOMETHING PERSONAL! ahem..now I feel better. This is the same guy that bought me a can opener the first year we were dating. That one, he will never live down.....I wont let him. I am anxious to see ideas you get here. Good Luck

green...when were you banded? I see where you say you take lots of Vitamins, have you had a problem with losing hair like some talk about? I am not banded yet, I am playing the waiting game right now. But I was shocked when I saw people talking about losing hair. I just didnt even think about that. mnkbrly...you and I are the same age and about the same amount to lose. I will be watching your progress. I havent been banded yet, but it seems alot of it depends on age and how much elasticity your skin has. There is one girl on here that is younger and she says she had more extra skin than she would have guessed. Losing it slower helps tho. I have been lurking here for over a year. The people on here are very helpful and full of so much knowledge that a Dr would never have. Good Luck

I was looking at your stats last night, telling my husband how good you have done! Any secrets you could share? I am not banded yet,records turned in, I know my BMI is enough,I have HBP,Type 2 Diabetic. And I have 3 insurances, 2 cover lap band, so I should not be out of pocket much. Just waiting for approval! I am always afraid to go under also. Congrats on your success so far!

Well I have locked horns with this "other staff" one already. You know there is no excuse for treating people like that, if the person doesnt like their job then find another one. But, like MEW I will bend over backwards to get my approval, then hopefully no more dealings with that one. I am in the waiting mode now also. Pretty funny they returned your call so fast Wheetsin!

Not being banded yet we went for Breakfast this week. had the above mentioned pancakes. I was very disappointed, couldnt finish them, they we not good. So....you arent missing anything there if that makes you feel any better.

Who is the BCBS through and the UHC? My husbands work has BCBS and the benefits person said they are starting to cover lapband some. Also UHC through ATT covers it. Dr Malley and Dr Hoehn at KCBariatric are both good here in town.

I have friends like this! They would be crying with me because they would be laughing so hard. There are some girls I occasionally go on vacations with. We were on a trolley ride. Me and my other friend (both of us big) couldnt find a seat. So we sat on a bench together. Our knees were crammed so hard into the front seat we had impressions on them. She said the sucking noise we hear when we stood up would be our butts disengaging, if the seat wasnt attached to our butts when we stood up. We cracked up.
