Thanks for the replies. I have left 1 more message. If I get no response from it, I guess we will have to drive in there. I just dont get it. We live about 45 minutes away and I think that is ridiculous if I have to resort to driving in, because they wont do their job.

Maybe someone here can help, I have been trying to reach Dr Sabapathy's office for 2 weeks now. I leave a message on the answering machine but no one is calling me back. I even called Dr Hoehn's office to be sure I had the correct number. Any idea's? Is Dr S still in business?

Back with the crazy-ates
I need to chime in here too. Weight came off easier for the first 4-5 months. Now it is really slowed. My fault entirely. I wish I would've had the restriction at first that I have now. I will try to check in more often. Hopefully checking in will be the support I need to get jump started.

Hello KS Bandsters
Hi, I agree with most of what Wheetsin and Ghost say. I havent been to Hoehn ofc for a fill in quite awhile. I have off and on restriction. So not sure that I need a fill right now. I really liked Dr Hoehn the 3 times I think it was that I saw him. The surgery consult, surgery day and 1 fill. All the rest of the time I have seen Tim. I have had no problem with Tim. You need to trust the Dr, some of the other people you will probably have no contact with after surgery. I was singled out and very embarrassed at a support meeting. Never went back to one. The person that lead them at that time was very condescending. I should check out possibly going to a KC Bandsters meeting. I wish there was a support meeting in Western KCK or the Leavenworth area. Goodluck

53 and stuck at a 53# weightnloss
I was banded 8-8-07. I have been at 43/44lbs since Christmas. I cant seem to get anywhere. I wonder if this is where I am going to stay. When I got my last fill the Dr pretty much said this was it on the fills. Said to come in if I needed to. I am VERY discouraged. I was hoping to have at least 75lbs off by now.

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
I have developed a problem....in fact many. After I eat anything I get a LOUD grumbling in my lower quadrant. No foolin it woke me up from sleep one night. Also, I am having terrible, stinky (sorry) gas,,,and its not coming up if you know what I mean. I am sliming on practically anything. My husband and I went to a dinner party tonite, where I ate good: small dinner salad-6 sm bites roasted turkey-7 small bites BBQ beef brisket-7 small bites mashed potatoes w/gravy-4 bites au gratin potatoes-2 bites NO BREAD---NO BREAD---NO BREAD---SO NO BUTTER!!!! and a little tenee penee colada No sliming with dinner this time. My meat was cut in pieces smaller than a sugar cube. Other foods bite not much bigger. We were planning on going to a party afterwards (my first party since a year ago, I have an exciting life) I could feel it start to come on, I said we need to leave soon. Husband talks and talks, I keep trying to give him the LOOK. Talk, talk, talk, yack, yack, yack, he walks by says "anytime your ready". I said I've been ready, "bye everyone" "oh leaving so soon, you've only stayed 45 minutes" Gotta GO Gotta Go Gotta GO right now. I barely made it in our house, thru to the bathroom and sit down ----explosion. That is happening more and more. Thats not anything I want to do at someone elses house. Is anyone else having ANY of this and what is causing it. The gas I get eating anything, it doesnt matter. Please help me........................signed Toilet Lurker

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
WOW ct that is great! I am pluggin along getting real discouraged. I have been plateaued since about December. I had lots happen here at home that have contributed to that. And most of all my hunger has returned with a vengeance. I have been for 2 fills in the last several weeks. The Doc said the pressure in my band seems to be good. But, my restriction is sporadic. I dont know what to do. I dont want it all to stop here. I have a long way to go still.

Thanks for the responses I have gotten. I understand the kick in the butt. But it can be done without totally embarrassing someone, we are all supposed to support each other. I will try to make one of the KCBandsters meetings although I cant make the 4-21 meeting.

Not sure I want to go back to any support meeting. Last one I was at SOMEONE WHO WILL REMAIN NAMELESS, very much embarrassed me, when I was trying to be honest with the group. I didnt ask for her critique, I was making an honest statement.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
but I found what you all are talking about. I think. Laurend-I hadnt been on here for awhile, your numbers are looking good! I am at a standstill, and went to get another fill 3-31. Now I have next to no restriction, I feel like I am sliding down hill backwards here. I wonder if he took some accidently instead of putting some in? Does that happen very often?

Got banded in Springfield MO??
Has anyone heard from un5-3051?? I have lost track of her.
-
In search of words of encouragement.... or just a little truth (whatever works).
The time period before your first follow up is supposed to be your healing time. At this point a lot of us had no restriction at all. At this point a lot of it is will power. You should start getting restriction as you get fills. Dont beat yourself up. Look at what you have lost and you HAVE made a big decision just having the surgery. Good Luck and take care.

Approved..had Surgery..now Insurance Is Trying Not To Pay!
I agree with what was just said. Also, check to see if you have a Benefits person with your company. You may also have legal benefits through your company. Not a company attorney but a referral to an attorney. I have used that through my husband legal service at work. They sent 1 letter and it was taken care of. I cant believe they would refuse after you have it in writing that they would pay. I think you have the upper hand here.

For those with BMI 35-40?
I agree with socalgal, and maybe since it is getting close to being a reality he may be getting apprehensive. I think everyone gets nervous when the time gets closer. I know I did. Assure him what the mortality rate is. It is very low.Tell him you want to be alive as long as you can, and this can help achieve that. My husband is very supportive, goes to all my appointments and meetings, and even makes me a protein shake for breakfast. I'm really glad I have his support. Goodluck

Sitting here on this fence...
I wish I could have done this when I was younger. If I didnt do this I would still have that 40lbs. You can still eat most anything, things that dont work with your band....it will tell you and it will make eating them not worth it.
