What would you say?
The doctor I used requires everyone to go to a lap-band seminar first. I know all doctors are different, but maybe going to a seminar first (if you haven't already) would help your transition into this process. I got a lot of great info and it helped me feel more confident and comfortable talking to the doc about the procedure. Good Luck!

I dare you!

Still Starving!
I just posted on your other thread, but here's what I said: I think you should follow your surgeons instructions. Did he/she give you a list of foods and tell you how long to be on them? You definitely don't want to risk having complications. Good luck!

Thanksgiving Holiday - Celebrating or Ignoring?
This will be my first Thanksgiving with the band. We have so many places to go: My mother's side of the family, my father's side of the family, my husbands family... I usually graze all day because we're on the move all day. Hopefully this year I will have some self-control.

I've just discovered Chai Tea!!!!
I've been watching this thread and I just thought I wouldn't like hot tea. I'm from the Georgia and we drink iced tea. Well I finally broke down and bought some at the grocery store and I was pleasantly surprised. I love it!!! I mix it with a little skim milk and a little splenda. It's official, I'm hooked.

Traveler
Hi Traveler! Congratulations on your surgery! I did have some hunger pains but nothing unbearable. Are you getting in enough liquids? Or maybe you're just a really fast healer and your stomach is already feeling close to normal again. Anyway, hope it gets better for you and good luck!

newly banded on November 5th
Hi Deirdreboo8! I'm glad you're doing well but now is not the time to be worried about the scales. Give yourself time to heal and trust me, the weight will start to come off. Good luck!

I hate it when people post just to post.....
One of my cousins used to get out the mayo jar and a spoon and just go to town. I like mayo....but not that much.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
I used to love mixing together mayo and ketchup to dip my fries in. My DH thinks it's nasty but i love it.

Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetables
I just discovered these and they are great! I've been having a hard time getting my vegetables in and I was grocery shopping at Wal-Mart and came across these. It's called Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetables. It consists of sliced carrots, sugar snap peas, black beans and edamame lightly tossed with a butter sauce. It comes in a small box in the frozen section and it has 2 servings : 90 cal, 2.5g fat, 5g protein per serving. I noticed it goes down better than others I have tried and it is delicious!

I'm not a huge fan of low-carb, personally, because I like carbs too much, but it does work. I think it would work good for you since you only have 10 lbs to lose. Once I lost 50 lbs doing low-carb, so it works, but for me it is not something I would want to follow the rest of my life. Good luck and hope everything goes well for you!

to band or not to band
Hi blooh and welcome!:welcome: It's really nice that you and your sister can go through this together. As far as food mourning goes, you need tobe prepared that there may be some food that you cannot tolerate. But for many people, they can eat all types of food, just less of it. Right now I can eat pretty much anything. I've had one fill and no restriction yet, so when I get to my sweet spot there may be some foods I have to live without and I am prepared to let them go. I did this to get my life back... no regrets. Hang in there. I think you and your sister will do great and you have each other for support. Good luck!
