  1. Hi Amerdoodles! Congratulations on your surgery in December! Does you doctor have you on a specific pre-op diet or did he/she tell you to do it however you want?
  2. Could it be because "someone" is gone? If it is, I'm doing the happy dance with you!
  3. I was banded 9-20-07 and had my first fill Nov. 1st. I do not feel any restriction at all. I called the doctor's office and told them. I go back on the 15th for another fill, so hopefull i will get some restriction soon.
  4. Hi Judithbill, welcome! 35 lbs is awesome! You've heard the expression "Slow and steady wins the race", well I think that is appropriate in this situation. It is better to lose slowly rather than fast. No one can eat perfect all the time. What is it that you're having a hard time giving up? Do you have good restriction right now? Have you tried the bottled Water flavor packages? Don't be too hard on yourself and just try to refocus on why you had this surgery.
  5. Welcome Hotdogpriss! Glad to hear your doing well. As far as the gas goes...walk, walk, and walk some more. Gas-X didn't work for me either. Walk as much as you can and it should help tremendously. Good luck on your lap-band journey!
  6. WhooooHooooo!!! Congratulations, we'll be rooting for you. :cheer2:
  7. You look great! I can't wait to get to MY goal. I set my goal at 150 but who knows, it could change by then. Again, you look great!
  8. Yes. My surgeon put me on the Sugar Busters Diet for 2 weeks. It really wasn't that bad, I ate lean meats and vegetables and some fruits. Oh, and I could eat only whole grain breads. I lost about 16lbs on it.
  9. Congratulations!!!:Banane44::confused: You're getting banded on mine and DH's anniversary! Good luck and let us know how things are going!
  10. Congratulations!!! I am excited for you! Hope everything goes well and don't forget to let us know how it's going. Are you on a pre-op diet? Congratulations again and good luck on the surgery!
  11. I also have a 10cc band and I just had a fill last week of 2cc. I don't feel any restriction but I get evaluated every 2 weeks, so I go back on the 15th and if I have not lost 4lbs I get another fill. I understand starting with a low fill, but in a year's time you should be better restricted than you are. As 4leafclover said, maybe you should look into getting another fill doctor. Good luck and hope you get some restriction soon.
  12. Hi Arin! What you're feeling is completely normal. I knew it was time for me because I was tired of missing out in life. I have a son that is 20 months old and it is not fair to him. I can't run around and play with him because I'm in terrible shape. He's getting older now and I want to be able to take him to an amusement park and ride roller coasters with him without being afraid that I won't fit on the ride. I knew lap band surgery was the way to go because everything else had failed. I want my life back. My advice is to do it now while you're still young. Don't miss out in life any longer than you have to. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
  13. Hi Marieze! What you're experiencing sounds like it is due to the weight. I am 5'5 and was 330lbs at my highest before my surgery. Like you, even walking the shortest distance was hard because I was out of breath and I also had back pain. I started walking everyday about 2 weeks after my surgery. I had to start out slow but now things are much better. My DH and I walk about 2 miles a day. We hope to get up to 5 miles eventually. It takes time, just hang in there. Good luck and take care!
  14. Welcome Murf! I was banded 9-20-07 in Albany, Ga. I had my first fill Nov.1st and I don't have any restriction yet. I go back on the 15th for another fill. The weight loss has definitely slowed down for me too. Welcome again and good luck!
  15. Welcome Marybrid19! Sorry to hear you've had a few complications. I hope things are going okay now. Good luck and keep writing!
  16. Congrats on the adoption! I am so happy for you! I'm glad to hear things are going good for you. I had my fill last thursday and I started eating solid foods on Sunday and I have no restriction. I go back on the 15th for another fill, so hopefully I will have restriction soon. Congratulations again and keep us posted about the baby that's coming on thursday. Good Luck and God Bless!
