7 months and discouraged
Hi Kellyjayne! I am a night owl. I have trouble with wanting to eat at night. Before I got banded I would snack a lot late at night. Lately when I feel like I want to eat junk at night, I make myself some Chai tea with skim milk and splenda. It also calms my sweet tooth. Like Sue, I also try to plan meals ahead of time. I also do a lot of freezing so I can just pop it in the microwave when I'm on the go. Good luck!

Anyone Jump Rope?
I used to love to jump rope! In elementary school I was the "Jump Rope for Heart" champion 5 years in a row. Once I started gaining weight, I stopped doing any exercise. The other day I was thinking about how much I used to love jumping rope, so I went out and bought a jump rope and started. Well, it's a lot harder than it used to be. The first time I did it, I was only able to do 10 jumps. I know, thats sooo sad. But I continued doing a little every day this week and today I was able to do 100 in a row, although I thought I was going to hyperventilate afterwards. I was doing some research on calories burned per hour and based on my weight, jump roping burns more than jogging. Are there any others out there that like to jump rope?

Actitrainer vs. Body Bugg
I'm interested as well. Right now I am leaning towards the Actitrainer because of the price difference, but would like to know the details of both devices.

Dehydration and workouts?
Hi Bigcountry! I've never had a problem either. I can pretty much drink normally as before with the exeption of gulping a whole bottle of water at once. Right after surgery is when I was very limited. I had to take small sips for a while, but once the swelling went down I was able to drink normal.

On The Way To Being Banded For Life
I lost 16 lbs pre-op and about 10 lbs the week after my surgery. I was on Clear Liquids for an entire week so I didn't have many calories that week. Since then I've lost 14 lbs. It's coming off a lot slower now.

that time of the month
I have PCOS too! I started having regular cycles about a year ago. I had lost some weight and Boom, they started coming. I still deal with all the other symptoms and I am actually going to an endocrinologist at the end of the months to see if she can straighten out my hormones. I sing as well and I was able to perform 2 weeks after surgery. Good luck!

Newbie from Georgia
Hi everyone! I told all of you that I had a fill on the 1st and I was feeling no restriction at all. Well today, for whatever reason, I felt it. I've heard others say that it can take a coulple of weeks to kick in. I'm not sure if it was a freak thing or if I'm feeling restriction now. At least I'm feeling something, I was beginning to wonder if it was really in there.

tracking calories?...help
I was contemplating on whether or not I should purchase to Bodybugg because it is soooo expensive. I signed up today at The Daily Plate and decided I would try this first, plus it's free.

Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetables
If anyone uses The Daily Plate for calorie tracking, you can find these vegetables listed under Green Giant Healthy Weight. I tried putting "vegetables" on the end and could not get it to come up. Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate

Actitrainer (Like a Bodybugg :) )
I went to the acti trainer website ActiTrainer Online Data Analysis - ActiGraph, LLC. and I was wondering if anyone knows what the promotional coupon code is. I know that the bodybugg website had one at one time and it took about $50 off of the original price. Thanks in advance!

Hello to all - singer here
Welcome pc201! I'm a singer too. I'm not a classical singer, but I sing at church and at community events. I love to sing and I was able to sing at church 2 weeks after my surgery. Your abdominal muscles will be sore at first, I noticed I was able to take big breaths and hold them close to my 2 week post-op. Congratulations and good luck in your lap band journey!

New to the board and from Ohio!
Welcome flashkatt! I'm sorry that your FIL makes fun of you. My husbands family has never actully made fun of me, but I see the looks they give me because everyone else in their family is thin. It's hard, but we can have the last laugh. I am a stay at home mom too, and that makes it super hard because I used to graze all day so I've really started trying to keep busy all the time so I won't think about food. Good luck at the meeting!

Intoduction
Welcome Eulete! Wow, your surgery will be here before you know it. You are very lucky that your insurance company pays 100%. I have good insurance too, mine paid 90% and I feel very blessed because without that I never would have been able to do it. I will pray for you as you face the liquid diet and the upcoming surgery. Good luck and take care!
