  1. 4jin, I love your new avatar............so cute
  2. LOL. I know what you mean. I did most of my shopping online this year and it was great, I love that I didn't have to fight the crowd. I hope you get an approval soon. Maybe you'll get it before Christmas, that would be an awesome gift.
  3. Bandster 1007 I can definitely relate to you about the finances. When my son was born, DH and I decided that I would stay home with him, so we live off of his paycheck alone (paycheck to paycheck). It's rough, but we have been able to get everything we need, and that's all that matter's right now. It's especially hard this time of year. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time right now. I truly hope things get better for you soon. I felt the same way as you, right after I was banded, and it has gotten so much better. Hang in there. ((HUGS))
  4. That's a great attitude to have! Good luck to you!
  5. Hey Kissmygrits, glad you're back. Good luck with your surgery, you will be in my prayers. Wow, Buttercup, you are doing great.........keep up the good work! I will be praying that you get approved and have a speedy process! Haven't heard from some of you others lately (Jeannie, Renewedhope....) How's it going? Hope you are all doing well! Merry Christmas everyone!
  6. I live in Moultrie. Not all that exciting, but it's home. My DH is the only man I've ever dated. I didn't plan it that way, it just happened. It's funny how life turns out, not what I expected at 14 years old, but I'm very happy with him. He's great!
  7. Seems like the star idea is popular. My DH and I have been together since I was 14 years old. On one of our first dates, we laid on my trampoline, and just looked at the stars for hours. We both enjoy astronomy. Does anyone remember that movie, "A Walk to Remember"? We watched that movie together and both thought it was cool that he gave her a star. On our anniversary that year, we both gave each other a star. We just laughed and said, "great minds think alike".
  8. Welcome Misspeesh! I have PCOS too and I have already seen a big difference. I'm having a regular period every month, I'm not as tired, and my mood swings are a little bit better. I think it will get even bettter with time. I used to play softball as well and I really miss being active and having fun. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!
  9. Congratulations!!! I know what you mean, I've been on several low carb diets in my life and I was just amazed at how many I consumed on a daily basis. Good luck with your pre-op diet and with your surgery!
  10. Yes, I believe it is called the "Joy Fit Club". I actually did gain a couple of pounds in the past few weeks and just now lost them back. We all work really hard, just as hard as anyone else.
  11. Did anyone see the second segment of the Today Show today? They interviewed this lady that lost over 200 lbs. She looked amazing! My problem is, they made it a point to say that they were looking for weight loss stories about people who lost it the "old fashioned" way. Don't get me wrong, I think it is amazing when someone can lose it on their own. Why does everyone assume we are taking the "easy way out"? I never had a problem losing weight, my problem was that I couldn't keep it off. That's why I think the band is going to work for me. Yes, we have this amazing tool to help us, but we still have to make good food choices and exercise. It just makes me so mad when people think that just because we had WLS, we aren't making as good of an effort as those who do it the "old fashioned" way. My husband's parents were not supportive of my surgery at all. They haven't asked how I'm doing or anything. They think I should have done it the "old fashioned" way, too. I have a really good support system with my husband and my parents, I just wish people would see it for what is really is.............hard work!
  12. Congrats, Shoegirl! I was very fortunate that my insurance covered it as well. What a blessing! Good luck on your pre-op diet, it will be hard with the holiday comimg up, but just stick to it and it will be well worth it.
  13. :welcome: Miss Maudie! When are you getting banded? Your surgeon was right to recommend this site, there is a lot of great info here. Good luck to you and I wish you the best!

I like to sing, paint (mostly whimsical trees), take pictures, play with my son, and spend time with my family.
  15. Thanks for the info. I plan on having it done someday and it's good to know that you have had success with it. If you don't mind me asking, how long ago did you have it done and how many treatments did it take?
  16. Thanks. I'm glad you are doing well. I know how hectic it can be with just one small child, so I know with 2 small ones your hands are full. I'm right there with you, I don't have much restriction either. But, for the last couple of days, I've had a little more restriction. I'm not sure if it is stress making me tighter or what. I've been taking some online classes and with Christmas coming up, it's just been busy. I go back Thursday for an assessment, so hopefully I will get a fill before Christmas. I haven't lost any weight either in the last few weeks. I did buy an elliptical for myself for Christmas, maybe this will motivate me to get back on track. It was so good to hear from you. You're doing great!
  17. I am so sorry to hear this. I know you must be scared. I'm praying that you find a surgeon to help you and that you get well soon.
  18. Coastlgrl I am feeling the same way. I was doing so good and this past week I have been eating junk and not exercising. I know I need a fill as well and I go next Thursday for one. I just bought an eliptical and my husband put it together today. Hopefully this will inspire me to get back on track. Hope it gets better for you soon.
  19. Thanks for the tip, I got some today and just finished a cup. It was really good.
  20. Congratulations on your new baby boy! Can't wait to see pictures.
  21. Mona, That was the funniest post! Unfortunately, I had to use to Phenergan suppositories post-op, I was nauseated for about 5 days after surgery, even with the patch and a nausea braclet. DH had to put mine in as well..........it wasn't fun. We had trouble with the first one as well, I won't go into detail but the experience was similar to yours, except we were at home, thank goodness.

    LOL. That's a good one.
  23. I don't have very many anymore. I used to bite my nails and pick at my skin. I only have one now thats quite obsessive. I absolutely cannot go to bed without cleaning the wax out of my ears with a Q-tip. I do it everynight. I know it's not good to put those in my ear, but I can't stop. There have been a couple of times that I forgot to do it and woke up in the night to clean them out. My DH thinks I'm loco for doing this.

Just thinking about that is making me gag! That must have very awkward...........well, that's an understatement. I think you are right not to tell your father, that's just gross.............
