Drinking before meals
This is crazy! I wonder why some require waiting before eating and others do not. I'm going to ask at my next appt because I would love to drink something before I eat. Mine said to wait 30 minutes before eating and 30-60 minutes after eating.

What Happened & What did I Miss..??
I got a really cute card from laurend as well. She told me that she would be visiting her parents and would not have internet access. I hope she comes back soon. I hope all the others come back as well. It's not the same without them.

New Years Resolutions
Here are a few more: 1. Get to my goal weight by this time next year 2. Be more active 3. Make a budget to manage finances better 4. Finish my online courses and get my diploma 5. Keep a cleaner house "Stop biting my nails" would normally be at the top of my list, but I stopped biting them a month ago. Yay me!

New Years Resolutions
Hah, that sounds familiar. It runs in my family, I think it's genetic (makes me feel better to blame it on the genes.)

Night Snacking
This is a big problem for me. I am a night owl, I can not go to bed early. I probably need to get something from the doctor to help me go to sleep. This was my biggest problem before getting banded. I snacked all night long. Now, when I feel the need to snack at night, I make a cup of chai tea with splenda (no calories), or a cup of diet hot chocolate (only 25 calories). That seems to calm my cravings. Good luck to you and hope things get better soon.

I just want to vent frustrations
Hi Have you talked to your insurance company about pre-op diets? If not, give them a call and ask. I don't know what kind of insurance you have, but my insurance company answered all my questions over the phone. I was very fortunate that my insurance company did not require a pre-op diet. My surgeon required a two week diet to shrink the liver (Sugar Busters Diet). I know it's very frustrating for you right now. Hang in there and hopefully your insurance company will not require the 6 month supervised diet. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck.

Hunger question
In my case, I didn't get hungry for at least a couple of weeks, maybe longer (I can't remember exactly). I think I had a lot of swelling that took a while to go down. Some people are fast healers, and maybe your swelling went down already? Are you able to drink comfortably?

For those who have PCOS
Hi Ann, I couldn't take the Glucophage either. It gave me headaches and gave me an upset stomach. Congratulations on your blood pressure. It's amazing what weight loss can do for our health. Imagine how much better we will feel when we make it to our goal weight. Nice to meet you, take it easy and good luck to you.

Hardest Habit to break?
I think the hardest thing for me has been to take small bites. I've gotten used to chewing really well and not drinking with my meals, but I still take huge bites and sometimes swallow too much at one time. I'm getting better at it though. I've never PB'ed but I do feel some pain occasionally if I swallow too much.

8cc fill w/ a 10cc band...y am i still hungry???
Hi Karen Are you losing 1-2 lbs per week? Maybe I'm the only one, but I don't think a small peice of Protein and a cup of salad is too much, especially at dinner. I usually drink a shake for Breakfast (I am tighter in the mornings and I'm not a real big "breakfast eater" anyway), 3/4 cup of chili or a small peice of lean meat and some veggies for lunch, and I can pretty much eat whatever I want by evening. I still try to keep it fairly small, but I eat more at night than during the day. I agree with everyone about the protein. Eat that first and then move to veggies if there is room. If I were you, I wouldn't worry as much about measuring food as long as you are losing. Looks like you are doing pretty good from looking at your stats. Hope this helps and hope things get better for you.

Is it possible to shrink your pouch if you think you've stretched it out?
Are you saying that your doctor said your band is almost full? I also have a 10cc band and I have 5cc in it right now. I do have some restriction but not as much as I would like. I've heard some people say that they have about 6-7 cc in their band before they get to their "sweet spot". Have you asked your doctor about this and what did heshe say?

Hi
Hi and welcome to the site. Your weighloss is going great! I was banded 9-20-07 and have lost 55 lbs. I've noticed it is coming off a lot slower now. How are you feeling since surgery? Keep up the good work, you are doing great!

Dazzle feeling Frazzled
Hi Dazzle, What kind of pre-op diet are you on? In all honesty, mine wasn't that bad. I was on the sugar busters diet for 2 weeks. I was very fortunate not to have to do a liquid diet. Hang in there, I know it is rough right now, but just think about how much healthier you will be. Good luck with your surgery and let us know how it goes.

East Texas LapBand Hopeful
Do you know if you'll have to do a pre-op diet yet or will you be able have the surgery pretty soon after approval?

My blender SUCKS
No worries, the majority of customers were very satisfied. 80% gave high praises. It's just like any other product, there are always going to be some flukes in the bunch.

My blender SUCKS
Yes, the magic bullet is wonderful, it works so much better than any other blender I've ever owned. I just ordered the Bella Cucina from Macy's for my sister. It seems very similar to the MB and it's on sale for $19.99. I'm all about saving money and this is a great deal.

My blender SUCKS
Wow, if I were you, I would order now. It seems to be very similar to the magic bullet. That's a great deal! Thanks for the info.

Protein/Meal Replacement Bars
I've tried the south beach and the kashi bars, I like both of them. Also, GNC has a good Protein powder. It's called Pro Performance ( I bought the chocolate caramel and mixed it with skim milk). For some reason, it wasn't as lumpy as some of the others I tried.

My blender SUCKS
At first it did a little, but now that I know how to use it, it's all good. What is the name of the blender that is similar to the magic bullet and where do you get it? I was thinking of getting one for my sister (she's getting married) but if there is one that is similar and cost less, I'd rather get that one.

My blender SUCKS
I have the Magic Bullet and it is wonderful. You can get it at Wal-Mart for $54.97. It's a little pricey, but so worth it.
