Hello,

I am new to this site and I have not been banded. I am researching and talking to others.

Welcome to LBT! This site has a lot of good info, so you shouldn't have a problem getting questions answered. Good luck to you hope everything goes well for you.

Glynda,

One thing to consider is insurance and location. I will be banded in Delaware but I did look in to going to Mexico. After attending an information session, I found out that if you have your surgery in Mexico, you may have trouble finding someone in the states to take care of your fills and often the doctors will not see anyone that had the surgery outside of the states. I would caution you to look into options in the states before looking at Mexico.

Good luck!

Shirley

i live in new york and have blue cross blue shield insurance. i had absolutely no problem with the insurance covering my operation fully. i did a lot of research myself before deciding on the lap band. so do your research, and i am sure the more you read the more you will agree that it is the way to go when all else fails. i never knew what being full was before i had my band. i was either starving or stuffed. now i know what it is like to be full without feeling like i'm going to explode. :clap2:
