What a difference a few pounds can make...
I was banded in September and I seem to lose in spurts. I can stay the same for a few weeks.... then BAM, I drop 5 or 6 pounds. I still lose this way, even though I am on solids. I know I'm not in starvation mode. I think people just lose at different rate and in different ways. Congratulations on the weight loss. It really does make a difference in the way we feel. Good luck to you!

Has your significant other lost weight with you?
No, mine hasn't lost any. I'm trying to encourage him to. We were both very thin when we met, I think he only weighed 145 lbs. Over the years his weight has risen up to 240 lbs. He probably needs to lose about 60-70lbs. He looked really healthy when he weighed about 175. I'm hoping he will try to lose some weight. It's all about being healthy for me. Hopefully he will jump on board soon.

Albany GA bandsters - speak up...
The Sugar Busters Diet wasn't that bad for me either. I still ate bread, just made sure it was whole grain bread. Like nip50 said, just stay away frome the white stuff. Good luck!

American Idol '08
I have always wanted to audition too! I agree, it is a popularity contest. Maybe when I get to goal I'll have the guts to audition......probably not, but hey, a girl can dream.

Female Question
Yes, I had the lovely experience of mother nature during surgery. They would not allow me to wear a pad or a tampon in surgery. They put something underneath me, so it wasn't really a big deal, just a little aggravating.

Tell me about that 1st full day you were home
I stayed in the bed. Hubby took off for a couple of weeks and was able to take care of my son. I had pretty bad nausea for 5 days, I think I was dehydrated. Walking will be good for you, if you are able. Good luck to you.

Low Carb Recipies
I tried the Pumpkin Chili recipe.....OMG, it was so good! I was a little skeptical of it, but it was wonderful. This will be the only chili recipe I use from now on!

How did your Christmas go?
We do a Christmas breakfast, or brunch rather, with my mom and dad, sisters and their husbands, and neices and nephews every year too. We always make a sausage breakfast casserole and a sausage cream cheese casserole. This year I was only able to eat a few bites of each. It felt so good not to have to worry about every single thing that I put into my mouth. Definitely a lot less stress this year!

How did your Christmas go?
I agree. Sometimes I think I have eaten a lot (simply because it takes so long to eat) but if I think back and retrack everything I ate, it is so much less than what I would have consumed pre-band. I'm glad everything went well for you this year!

How did your Christmas go?
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. This year was much better for me. I have to say........... I LOVE my band. I pretty much ate the things I would normally eat, just much smaller portions. I just had my 3rd fill last Thursday, and it made all the difference. How did your Christmas go?

Letters you wish you could send.....
Dear Son (22 months old), Thank you so much for the best Christmas gift ever! This morning, as I watched you play with all your new toys, you took the time to walk over to me, and tell me those sweet words for the first time, "I love you, mama". I know you didn't understand why I started to cry, but I assure you, it was because I was so happy. I tell you that I love you all the time and it felt so good to hear you say it. You are my life, and I love you so much more than you will ever know. Love Always, Mama

Newbie from Georgia
Hi Renee! It's nice to meet you. I had a hard time getting prego, but now I have a son that is 22 months old. I also did a low carb diet and lost about 50lbs, I think that really helped me . I hope the side effects of PCOS get better for all of us as we lose weight. You're doing great, thanks for sharing your story.

Glad to see you back. Today was my first day back on solids and I do feel some restriction. I just hope it lasts. Believe me, once you get decent restriction, it will get better. Until then, just do the best you can. I'll be happy just not to gain at this time of year.
