  1. Hi Heather! Welcome to LBT! My starting weight was close to your, 330lbs. I've set my goal weight as 150lbs. When I get to my goal, I may decide to lose more, who know's what I'll look like at 150lbs. I think it is realistic for you to set a goal of 140lbs. Good luck with your supervised diet and take care.
  2. That's wonderful!! I'm doing the happy dance with you......
  3. Hi Sandy, I'm glad you are doing well. Get lots of rest and I hope you have a speedy recovery!
  4. It's only been just over a week, and you've lost 21 lbs.......that is awesome! You are doing great, keep up the good work!
  5. That's great..........feels good doesn't it? Keep up the good work!
  6. Welcome back! Sorry you're having a difficult time right now. One thing that helps me, is that I spend NO MORE than 30 minutes eating a meal. After 30 minutes, I wrap up whatever is left, for another meal. It takes me a while to chew food, mainly because I have never PB'ed and I want to keep it that way! Many surgeons don't want their patients to snack between meals, but if I get really hungry (stomach growling hungry) I will snack on 1 oz. of nuts, a 100 calorie pack, or a piece of fruit. I try to keep snacks really small. Hope things get better for you. I'm sure you will get back on track and be at your goal weight soon. Good luck to you!
  7. I take Flintstone Chewables too, they seem to work fine.
  8. See, I am the complete opposite. Before I had surgery, I craved sweets all the time, especially chocolate. Since surgery, I haven't craved any sweets at all. It's strange........hmmmm......I guess I should consider it a blessing.
  9. chocolate is not always a bad thing. Milk chocolate will never be good for us, but dark chocolate can be good for you, if used in moderation with your daily diet (60% cacoa or higher is the best, IMO). Here is an article that may help Health Benefits of Chocolate - Tifa Chocolate I don't know why you're craving it so much, but if you like dark chocolate, try eating a small piece daily, and see if it helps. I, personally really like dark chocolate, and occasionally have a small piece.
  10. Hi Julie! I had never heard of acanthosis before so I looked it up on the medical dictionary website. Hopefully, as you loose weight, it will get better for you. As far as the weight loss goes, people lose at different rates, so try not to get discouraged. What type of foods are you eating now? Did your nutritionist give you a specific food guideline to follow?
  11. I'm so glad you are doing well and I can't wait to see before and after pictures. Take care.
  12. That was quite an experience. I'm glad you are okay. Did they refer you to a heart specialist? It sounds strange, and I would go to a specialist, just to be on the safe side. Hope you feel better soon.
  13. I know what you mean, I have a son, who is almost 2, and before I was banded, there was no way I could play in the floor with him. It's getting easier everyday. Good luck and I hope your insurance goes through quickly.
  14. Hi Sandy! I'm from Georgia too. I live in Moultrie......not too exciting, but it's home. Congrats on your surgery coming up. You're getting banded on me and DH's anniversary! Way to go on the weight loss, you're doing great. Good luck to you and I'm sure you will do great!
  15. Hi and welcome to LBT! You can go under the USA local lapband support forum and click on Texas to do some research.... here is the link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f64/dfw-area-bandsters-42449/ Good luck on your lapband journey!
  16. :welcomeB: Hi Joyaddison! Welcome to LBT! Being hungry after surgery is very common. After your swelling goes down, you may start to feel hungry again, at least until you get some fills. It varies from person to person. I did start getting hungry a couple of weeks after surgery. I have had 2 fills, and I only had decent restriction for about a week after my 2nd fill. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lot better than before, I just have to have some willpower until I get good restriction. Believe me, it has been well worth it. Good luck and I wish you the best!
  17. My doc says anywhere from 30 min -1 hour (that goes for both before and after a meal). I usually try to wait an hour if possible.
  18. Mine are really small too. All of mine are just about 1/2 inch long. They are very thin too, except for one (a stitch must have popped loose, so it has almost a circular shape on one end.)
  19. So glad to hear you are doing better. 11 lbs is awesome! Keep up the good work.
  20. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I've had a really great experience with my band, and I can already see that it is helping with the PCOS. I am now having regular periods every month!!!! It's really great that you were able to have 2 daughters. It took me and DH about 6 years to have our beautiful baby boy. I wish you the best of luck and take care.
  21. Wow Buttercup, you must be recovering pretty really well. Good to hear that you are feeling so good. Take care and good luck!
  22. Welcome and Congrats on getting banded! Glad to hear you are doing well. The hunger part gets better after you get a couple of fills. Where did your surgeon place your port? I didn't have much pain in my port area. Hope it gets better soon. 17 lbs is amazing, keep up the good work.
  23. I love everything about Christmas, except for the shopping. I really hate getting out into the crowd, so this year, I bought everything online and I hardly had to lift a finger. I'm probably one of those people who irritate most of you, because I love the Christmas music :lalala:. I start listening to all my Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.
  24. UPDATE! Name...........Chall. Start Wt........Current......Chall. Goal........To Go klpdbl....................283....................280.............270................10
  25. Hi Lish! It's nice to meet you. It seems like you have everything in order for your upcoming surgery. It's good that you are prepared. I know you are probably getting a little nervous, but honestly, recovery really wasn't that bad. You'll be sore for a while, but just take it easy and be sure to follow your surgeons instructions. Walking really helps if you have a lot of gas pain after surgery. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery!
