Black Friday??
There are about 5 or 6 women in my family that go every year (I am NOT one of them). Tonight at my grandmothers house, they were going through the sales papers, making their list, and planning, planning, and more planning. They actually use walkie-talkies and spread out at different stations and talk back and forth with each other until they can get everything on their lists. They had a run-in last year with someone who tried to steal an entire buggy. No price is worth going through that, in my opinion, although I love hearing about their adventures each year.

On the road to recovery
Hi Squishee and welcome to LBT! I know it's hard right now but I promise, it does get better. It's really hard to train ourselves to get over the head hunger issue. I am still dealing with it, but it has gotten a lot better. Have you tried a heating pad for your shoulder pain? I didn't have shoulder pain but I've read about others that have used them and they seemed to work well for them. Hope you have a speedy recovery and good luck.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! This Thanksgiving was so different from any other. I was very proud of myself. I completely stayed away from the sweets (which was my biggest downfall in the past). The band has totally changed my life.

I am sorry you're in so much pain, but in a few days, I'm sure you'll be feeling much better. I started feeling better on day 5. Hope you feel better soon. Get plenty of rest and take care.

Hey eyd! I have been going for years now untreated. I got so fed up because nothing was helping me so I stopped taking everything. I go to an endocrinologist next Tuesday, so I hope she can help me. I deal with acne, mood swings, excess body hair. Do as much research as you can and if it is something you want to do, go ahead and start making steps toward this new lifestyle. I wish I could say that it has been easy, but it hasn't. It is definitely easier than having to do it on my own. I can't believe how my lifestyle has changed. I make good food choices and I exercise regularly and I am seeing the weight fall off. I hope everything works out for you. Check out the PCOS thread in the General Lapband Surgery Discussion. Where is your port placement?
Mine is in the same place as Jeannie's and my bra covers it perfectly as well. I didn't think I would like it being there but I have to say, I haven't had any pain or problems with it and I absolutely forget it is there most of the time.

Anyone Jump Rope?
I was very surprised at how hard it was. I usually do somewhere between 80-100 jumps, then I stop and catch my breath, then go again. I try to do 5 sets but sometimes I just can't make it that far. And sometimes by the 4th or 5th set I only do 50-60 jumps.

Anyone Jump Rope?
I use both feet, it's easier me for that way. I tried alternating one foot at a time and I almost fell, so I'll stick with two.

What will you eat for Thanksgiving??
I am not in the mushy phase but I plan on having very very small portions of whatever I want to enjoy. I will stay away from the sweets just because they are my downfall. I have pretty good restriction right now so I am not really that worried about it.

Biggest Loser
I think it is inexcusable that the DJ's knew it could harm the contestants, yet continued to proceed with the contest. I think each one involved with putting together that contest should personally be held responsible. It is possible that salt could balance out all the Water, but I'm not sure.

Biggest Loser
I hear ya, it was soooo obvious. No one in there right mind would believe that he did not do it on purpose.

Biggest Loser
I just do not understand how you can water load 17 lbs, not to mention how dangerous it is. A little off topic, but, I think about the woman who died competing in the radio water drinking contest. In all honesty, before this happened, I had no idea that you could die from drinking too much water. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu4tedERHLGAANd5XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE5NjlydGY4BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMwRjb2xvA2FjMgR2dGlkA1BSMDE0Xzg1BGwDV1Mx/SIG=122c56c05/EXP=1195754974/**http%3a//www.nbc11.com/news/10817670/detail.html

I did it one year....and never again will I put myself through that.

Biggest Loser
I agree, but part of me wonders if he just voted that way because he knew evryone else would vote for Kae and he wouldn't have to worry about it anyway. I don't know, but I wonder if he is just "playing the game" again. I would find it hard to trust someone who purposely gained 17 lbs to get rid of someone. Just my opinion.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
I was just watching Paula's Party and she deep fried jellied cranberry sauce....I love cranberry sauce and I wonder how this would taste....but.....I'm afraid I can't bring myself to eat that many calories. Deep-Fried Cranberry Sauce Fritters Recipe courtesy Paula Deen, 2007See this recipe on air Tuesday Nov. 20 at 12:00 AM ET/PT. Show: Paula's PartyEpisode: Deep Fried Thanksgiving 1 (13-ounce) can jelly style cranberry sauce, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds 2 cups all-purpose flour, divided 2 tablespoons sugar Pinch salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup water Oil, for frying Lay the cranberry sauce rounds out in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan and freeze for 4 hours or until solid. In a shallow bowl, place one cup of the flour. In another shallow bowl combine the remaining cup of flour with the sugar, salt, and baking powder. Pour in the water and stir together until smooth. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes. Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or large Dutch oven to 375 degrees F. Dredge the frozen cranberry sauce rounds in the flour. Then dip rounds in the batter and gently place in the oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve and enjoy immediately.

What is it with the superior 'oldies'!!
There is a simple solution to this, if you are tired of the "obnoxious, self-righteous, and condescending remarks", put them on your ignore list. No one forces you to read their advice. The thing that really irritates me is when someone starts a thread and at the end they say, "ANY information would be appreciated" or "ANY advice would be helpful", knowing full well all they want is someone to pamper them. I mean, do you really want the "oldies" to lie to us and tell us that it's okay we ate half of a pizza or 5 candy bars. I know I don't. I appreciate the time that they take out of THEIR lives to help US. Some of them have been going through this process for years, so yes, they are more knowledgable about the band than we are, through their experience. This is Lapbandtalk, not "Pampermetalk".
