  1. Welcome Judyblue! It's nice to meet you. I have a son about the same age as your grandaughter, so I know exactly what you mean when you say you want to have this surgery so you can keep up with her. I realized it wasn't fair to my son, that I couldn't do things with him that required a lot of physical activity. I'm sure that you will do great with your band and I wish you the best of luck on your way to a new, healthier life.
  2. Thanks, I just sent Alexandra a PM.
  3. I was wondering if it would be possible to move a few of the threads from this forum to the FAQ and References forum (or just add another one to the other forum, leaving them here also). Many newbies do not scroll down this far, so the threads like: Avatars and Custom Title Issues, Ticker TUTORIAL (WITH PICTURES), and How To Attach a Picture to a Post could maybe be moved to the other forum with the Abreviations and Shopping lists, etc. It's just a thought, but if these were in the first forum, as you come in, maybe there wouldn't be so many ticker post in the other forums. It may not make a difference anyway, just a suggestion though. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just get tired of seeing all the ticker posts. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the info. I just signed up at Penn Foster Career School to go through the program and hopefully I will have my diploma in 6 to 8 months. I checked the school out with the Better Business Bureau and they are in good standing and have been around since 1962. Did your daughter get her training through the company or did she go through a career school? Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it.
  5. I agree, I would love to see a girl win it this year.
  6. Thanks for the info Jachut. This is something I have been wanting to do for years, even before I was a SAHM. I love being a mom, but I feel like that is all I am, just a mom. So I would love to be able to do both from home. Thanks again.
  7. I'm not on the pill either.......but I told the doctor that we were using another form of birth control and she said that it was okay. I'm going to have to be really careful. I do want to have another baby, but not until I get to my goal weight. I was on bed rest for most of my pregnancy due to my weight causing swelling and high blood pressure. I just want to be healthier next time.
  8. Hi MimIN! Congratulations on your LBL. I plan on having a LBL when I reach goal. Hope your surgery went well and let us know how you're doing when you feel up to posting.
  9. Way to go!!!! I can't wait to get there. Keep up the good work!
  10. I am looking into online training for Medical Transcriptionist. Just wondering if there is anyone in this career that could answer some questions. I want to work from home, so my questions are: 1. Did you get your training online? If so, which training program did you go through and were you happy with the institute. 2. If you have completed your courses, how long did it take you to find a job? 3. Were you able to pretty much set your own hours? (I have a son who's almost 2 and he keeps me very busy) Thanks in advance!
  11. Sometimes, if I eat too fast, I can feel the same sensation but it goes away pretty quickly. I just have to remember to slow down. Maybe I'm imagining things too, but I swear sometimes I can hear things passing through the band LOL.
  12. I've had mine just over 2 months and I love it!!!! No complications so far.
  13. Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure if it will help me, but I am willing to give it a try, at least until I can afford to have the laser hair removal. How long has it been since you had the laser hair removal and have you stayed hair-free, for the most part? Will you have to go back every other year for the rest of your life?
  14. Hey Renewedhope. How's the new baby? I have a 10cc band, my first fill was 2ccs and I had no restriction either. My second fill was another 2ccs and I had pretty good restriction for about a week. Now I'm back to being able to eat anything too. It's been really hard to stay on top of this, but I'm just trying to hold out and do the best I can until I get to my "sweet spot". SugarBusters is a really good diet. I did it for my pre-op diet and I lost 16 lbs in about 3 weeks. Good luck and don't be discouraged. Once you get some decent restriction, things will be a lot easier.
  15. Hey Jeannie! Glad to hear that you had a good day at work. Keep up the good work.

  17. Thanks everyone! Kimmie- I know you will be there in no time. good luck.
  18. Welcome Jen! I hope you get approved soon......good luck with everything.
  19. Welcome Janice! Congratulations on making to your goal weight! So far my journey has been wonderful. The band has really helped me change my lifestyle with food. Congrats again and welcome.
  20. Hey eMollyd! Congrats on your surgery and that wonderful weight loss! Keep up the good work and good luck to you.
  21. Hey Buttercup! I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well. It's great that you're only 2 days out and feeling so good. Keep us posted on how things are going and good luck.
  22. Hey Apples! Congrats on your surgery coming up. I have PCOS as well and the band has really helped me. I don't think that Gastric Bypass is any better than the band for people with PCOS, IMO. Chickie may be able to tell you more about PCOS and losing weight with the band. (I hope you don't mind me sharing this, Chickie). She posted on the PCOS thread that since losing the weight, a lot of her PCOS symptoms have subsided or gotten better. Look at her results........ nothing short of amazing! So, I believe that women with PCOS can lose weight with the band just as well as Bypass patients. Good luck and I wish you well.

I know how you feel. I used to work at a bank and people freak out if you can't do every little thing they want. I was so surprised that people could be so arrogant and rude. That is why I will never work at a bank again. Hope you find a new job soon.
