  1. if its like17-20 carbs couldn't it cause dumping?
  2. Thanks for sharing. Signed up for samples!
  3. I read this is also very good with sf pudding then blended to make it extra creamy w protein!
  4. I my kids were 8 and 10 when I told them. Just spin it positively getting on rides at the fair, pier, amusement park, roller skating, hiking, horseback riding, bike riding. I focused it on how it would benefit them in ways they will like. And I did promise to do all the above with them!
  5. Sugar free puddings, thinned yogurt (with protein shake) if you can find any that are low carb enough.
  6. I also have smell issues. Went to walmart today and every isle smelled a different kind of bad. I just wanted to puke. Baby oatmeal worked for me. Had a smooth texture but no crazy smell. I did mix it with some vanilla protein shake to thin it down.
  7. Just wanted to let everyone know that just about everything is on sale right now at GNC. They have bogo 50 and buy two get one free
  8. Just bumping it for those that haven't seen it yet.
  9. This such a supportive place. Welcome!
  10. I think it's normal. I went through the same and still am at almost two weeks out. Every night is full of several crazy dreams. I think it must also have a metabolic component to it.
  11. Can't wait to get old navy or other cheaper jeans instead of lane Bryant's super expensive jeans!
  12. Walking is always important. My doc doesn't give gas x to his patients in the hospital but best believe I took some as soon as I got home. My nurses were calling me a rock star bc I walked so much but it wasn't getting the gas out nearly as well as the gas x.
  13. You could make good $$ offering vegan and gluten free options as well!
  14. Feel better soon. Rest up while you can!
  15. It depends what you are allowed. At that point I could only have sugar free clear liquid. Sugar free pops and sugar free jello were good. Just had to portion out the jello first. I liked to get broth in just to get something salty. Are you throwing up? That can mean you are drinking too much or too fast. If this continues you should call your doctor.
  16. Good luck! The waiting game is no fun. Try to stay busy!
  17. I had extra skin from my 2nd pregnancy. Gained 100 lbs and lost it all. I had extra skin and if I wore a very tight shirt you could see that my belly was a little wrinkled. There were definitely things I couldn't wear but I was happy with my body and you will be too. You will learn that things like wrap tops, rouching, and other styles are more flattering. My ex didn't mind it. And after we broke I dated and the boyfriends I had over the years didn't mind either. it's not that bad.
  18. You know deep inside that you are not taking the easy way out. This is challenging. Moreso than any diet and exercise program out there. And not to mention you are brave. It's really a shame that people don't take the time to learn about the surgery before they voice their opinions. It's difficult but I would recommend taking the high road. Let her voice her opinions - she obviously needs to do so to make herself feel better. Just know that her opinions and mean words won't stop you from reaching your goals. You deserve the best and she can't stop you.
  19. Welcome! This is a great source of motivation and support.
  20. I said a prayer for you!
  21. It is normal and healthy to be nervous. Trust that your doctor is responsible enough not to operate on someone who is unsafe for surgery. Anesthesia also has to approve that you are safe for surgery before the fact. You will be fine!
  22. I've heard the same thing that most people maintain at about 10-16 pounds above their lowest weight post op. I can't attest for this but have heard many talk about the five day pouch test to retrain yourself. Like I said, can't vouch for it but worth looking into if you want.
