New Girl

Hi, everyone! My name's Erica and I am 6 days post-op. I feel pretty good.

I am a married, homeschooling mom and writer. I was an average kid and a thin teenager, but things got out of whack when I had a Norplant placed just before I was married 15 years ago and I've been steadily gaining ever since. Finally, at 373 pounds and a BMI of 53.5, enough was enough. I lost 13 pounds on my pre-op diet and go back to my surgeon on Thursday to see what I've lost since last Tuesday. The post-op diet is going pretty well; I start pureed foods tomorrow. The hardest part for me, so far, has been getting enough Water, but I'm getting better.

This such a supportive place. Welcome!

Welcome....it was hard for me to drink the required water and protein. Since you can only sip and not take big gulps it took me from 6 am to 11 pm to get all my minimum of 64 oz. of water and 64 gram of protein in. Now that I am 13 wks post op it is cake to get it all in. Each day gets better and better :)

Welcome to the group :) I'm still pre-op I have 11 days until surgery and I'm struggling getting enough fluid. Do u sip water a lot? That's what my surgeon told me to do after surgery

Welcome and good luck to you.
