  1. I started with nicholson when he was at baylor weight loss but ended up having my surgery with kuhn in Dallas. my husband is actually going thru the process right now and just got approved for the surgery. his BMI is right at 38-40 so I would make him wear work boot, lots of change in his pockets, a heavy belt and his wallet with tons of keys and a chain on it. don't laugh.... cuz I know you are right now. but his weight can go up & down by 20 lbs very quickly and I wasnt taking any chances. It took me from july of 2010 until march of 2012 to get approved and I didnt want him to go thru the waiting like I did.
  2. So I am almost 4 months out and I am at another stall. Been here for 3 weeks now. up 6oz dowon 8oz. cant get out of this for some reason. I have tried restricting my calories which didnt help then I have tried adding extra calories (1000/day total). I just needed to vent. I want to loose at least another 20 lbs before october and get into onderland. just frustrated and needed to vent
  3. cherries, straberries & raspberries are my go to fruit.
  4. the smoothie king protein shake has 45g of protein in it for 2 scoops. that is 3/4 of our RDA. Peanut butter will add extra fat and calories to it. I add a 1/2t of decaf instant coffee crystals for a nice mocha flavor and I also use skim milk which adds more protein to it.
  5. right after surgery we all have that weird feeling. like it is hitting a wall and then going thru. it is not a feeling of fullness.. you need to get your fluids in or will be dehydrated and a re-admission
  6. get a kitchen time and sip one ounce of water every 15 minutes. for some reason sugar free popsicles went down really easy also sucking on ice chips. you need to get your fluids in and 8oz/day is not enough. water down some chicken broth (less sodium) the more fluids you get the better you will feel.
  7. if you are on facebook. look up "foodcoachme" she gives lots of recipies for weight loss surgery. I also stay low carb and it has worked for me the best so far. I might have some potato once a week or a few teaspoons of rice. good luck
  8. it took my husband 6 weeks to get an approval after submitting his paperowrk. patience.... it took years to gain the weight. I would call the office once a week until you got an answer.
  9. I am happy if I go once a week and that is with taking colace twice a day.
  10. ED RN here !!! Got sleeved a little over 3 months ago and wouldnt change a thing!!! best thing I have ever done. still losing weight, getting my protein in and always on the hunt for new recipies so I dont get bored.
  11. I agree. i am 3 months out and get them also. but I know that I just drank a shake and you get the gurggling in your stomach feeling. never had heartburn untill after I had the surgery. The only downfall so far. other than that I am loving my sleeve !!!
  12. smoothie king gladiator for me. it is all by trial and error.
  13. personally I try to keep mine at 22% for the week. some days are higher than others. but my total for the week is between 20-24%
  14. 5 weeks of full liquids.... wow you have determination !!!
  15. keep drinking. even sugar free popsicles ... dont worry about protein yet. just get your fluids in. broth, water, vitamin water & popsicles were my go to at first. by next week you will able to add your shakes in. hang in there
  16. I actually like my food spicier now than before the sleeve. food just does seem to have any flavor anymore.
  17. raw veggies except tomato & cuccumbers,,, they dont sit well
  18. no carbonation at all after surgery. some days I really miss IBC root beer but it is not worth taking the chance
  19. make your own using eggface's recipe. high protein low/no sugar or fats. it is really delicious. best snack ever !!!
  20. c-section is much worse. I just had a lot of nausea from the anesthesia but other than that your abdomen will be sore like you did 500 situps
