  3. when I am at work II never know when I am going tobe able to eat so I ended up drinking up until I do. But I always wait a minimum 30 minutes to drink after and the first sip I have is my vitamin to choke it down.
  4. itching is a part of healing.... very normal. Also... that glue that they use is called dermebond. do not put lotion on it, it will make it break down.
  5. no energy... diabetic or not. make sure he is drinking plenty of water
  6. your Md must be a bean pole right? There are some physicians that are so against WLS. luckily mine was not and when I told him that I was starting the process he let me know that if I needed anything not to hesitate.
  7. make your own using your protein mix. The eggface website has great recipies. I make a double batch once a week. and love every bit of it. way better than the stuff you buy in the stores and there is NO guilt afterwards. PS... add a little sugar free carmel on top with sugar free whipped cream
  8. I am a nurse in an emergency room and almost all my co-workers know that I had the sleeve done. I am not ashamed. I was mmorbidly obese, having trouble with every day tasks for my job. I see this as a tool and to me it goves me some accountibility in the food choices that I make. There is SOOOO much temptation at work since there always goodies in the breakroom. all the staff is very encouraging.
  9. I had 6 months from date of approval to book my surgery. every insurance carrier is different
  10. who cares about the cake. I just wanted the frosting. pure sugary goodness. I am so glad I developed dumping syndrome after surgery. I wont touch any sugar now

  18. regular tea has more caffiene in it than coffee. say goodbye to it. some people eat whole wheat Pasta. I havent tried it yet. I bought some loose white tea and also some green teas that have very little to no caffiene in them. Teavana has some awsome teas (pricey) http://www.teavana.com/

  20. what do you think of them? are they a good chip/cracker alternative http://www.glennys.com/products/soy-crisps-chips.html
  21. that is usually the last place where I loose weight
  22. I tried them and they are nasty and very artifical tasting. I started making my own ice cream at home and it is much better
  23. no I had real crab meat. The small amount that I wws able to have a pound of crab meat was enough for 8 meals
  24. I have been researching the sleeve for at least a year before I went to my first consul in aug of 2010. In May of 2011 I was denied and had to wait until January 2012 to re-apply. As a medical professional, I have spoken to many surgeons (sleeve pt's), nurses who specialize in bariatrics and this is by far the most effective surgery with the LEAST side effects. You could not pay me to have a bypass and the sleeve wuld not give me the results that I was personally looking for
  25. see if you can have your PCP order them for part of your yearly bloodwork. some of it should be covered then. then you can have the results transferred to your WLS MD. If your PCP if pro WLS he will help you out.
