  1. Hey guys, I am getting a little worried. The scale hasn't moved an ounce in more than 9 days!!! Yes I am working out, protien first, and keeping my cals around 1000. I just want to know if this has been happening for anyone else at 10 weeks out?!!
  2. I drink a maybe a 1/4 of a can of diet coke every few days and a seltzer water every day. Is it against your surgeons recommendations? I have no issues and my surgeon says it WILL NOT stretch my sleeve.
  3. I totally struggled pre-op when I was waiting for my surgery, having "food funerals" etc. I gained 10lbs in 2 months eating whatever I wanted. It made me feel like crap, and If I hadn't done that I would probably have a 1 at the begining of my weight instead of a 2 now. :-( Try and think long term, and do the best you can!
  4. Sadly they have been the first thing to go for me. I have gone from a 42DD to a 38C in 2 months. I hope they stop shrinking now!!!
  5. at 5 weeks out he will be able to enjoy a very small amount of a few of his favorites. I think he will feel just fine! I had a birthday dinner 4 weeks out and I didn't feel left out at all.
  6. Ladies it is the best feeling to walk into Lane Bryant and walk out cause everything is too big! I offically wear a plain XL from Target and Old Navy and I bought a SIZE 16!!! omg I wore a 16 in high school. And I am 6 pounds away from my weight that I was when I graduated from high school in 2001!
  7. Thanks you guys! it's hard to imagine myself not needing those clothes for once because I ALWAYS have needed everytime I tried a new diet. I really plan to make sure I don't, its just hard to believe it, you know?
  8. I am about halfway to goal (give or take) I love to shop for clothes and I have a ridiculous amount of clothes (ranging from size 18-22's and 1x and 2x's) I have 40+ pairs of jeans, 100s of tops etc. I have recently starting pililng up my clothes that are too big, and I was so excited to give away all my clothes that no longer fit. Then i started to get anxious, what if I give away thousands of dollars of clothes and I end up needing them again????
  9. you look 20 years younger! Amazing, so inspirational!
  10. As a nurse I can get a little carried away with worry as well- I know too much for my own good sometimes. I see a lot of sick people. I asked my surgeon the same thing! My surgeon said only once did he perform a surgery where he found a cirrhosed liver when all the blood tests were normal. Try to relax! Worrying gets you nowhere, hope for the best.
  11. I had my seminar June 20th 2011 and my surgery Aug 9th 2011!!!
  12. Congrats on you loss that's amazing! I always get a flu shot!!
  13. I read alot about sleevers low carbing it on this site. I was an atkins buff back about 5 years and I knew all about ketosis, I tested my urine with strips and all. I lost a lot of weight, but gained it back once I got a tatse of carb again. I deciced back then low carb is not right for me! With my sleeve I am eating well balanced healthy carbs. So I was suprised to hear that I had ketones in my urine after a u/a I had for a UTI. My doctor says I am still burning fat and this can happen. Hmmmmm..... has this happended to anyone else? I am not diabetic or even pre-diabetic.
  14. WoW (no pun intended!) Awesome job!!!!! Thaks for sharing
  15. I use an occasional colace (ducosate) as well they are the red gel capsule.
  16. My best friend gave me this speech too! Your friends are scared of losing you in some way. Don't worry, actions speak louder than words, they will see you happier and healither and still a good person. My pyschologist I saw for a half a after a split from my fiance even said "don't get a big head and turn into a b***h when you get skinny" wow! I guess it does happen sometimes, but thats not me, and from your post that's not you either!
  17. Yes I have had a few bites here and there with no problems. Starting at 6 weeks out. I am at 9 weeks now. Just try a bite here and there and gradually increase as able. I have a sleeve of steel and nothing bothers me!
  18. I hear you! I am one of 5 kids in my family. My siblings are all bean poles, I ate exactly how they ate! To this day my sisters both weigh 120ish, and eat whatever they want. Last time I weigh 120lbs was in 2nd grade!
  19. My nut won't give me a number to shoot for. She says as long as I get at least 65-70 grams of protien in a day thats what matters. But its my opinion that my body needs more than 600 calories a day to function properly. I personally shoot for 1000-1200 calories a day now that I work out 5 days a week. Those are good, healthy calories with an occasional treat. I do not want to lose my hair, or ruin my metabolism, and I would prefer to lose my weight slowly, preserve my muscle mass, and hopefully help my skin tone. I feel great, down almost 3 sizes, and I am halfway to goal at 2 months out! Its working for me.
  20. My surgeon that is a family friend of the doctor I work for laughed when I asked him about carbonation streching our stomachs. He said that was ridiculous. He didnt reccomend it when our suture lines were fresh obviously! He said overeating will stretch the sleeve, not carbination that is expelled via burping.
  21. I drink a skim latte everyday since 1 week out and 1 beer a week since a month out and have had fantastic results and no problems.
  22. At 2 months out I can eat nearly anything, and I haven't gotten sick or the slimes for 3 weeks! (I did maybe 3 or 4 times total) I do feel normal and portions are not so ridiculously small anymore! I can eat a whole poached egg with a half an English muffin for example, it's nice!
  23. Wow that's so inspirational! You look fantastic
