  1. I use Spark People
  2. Way to go! I find it easier to always have my meals with me in case I can not eat or do not want to eat what is being served. Great job taking control! I do agree you probably could have eaten some of what was there but some times it is also too much a temptation.
  3. It is a grain.
  4. I think your body can only absorb so much protein at one time but I am not sure how much or how that works.
  5. What have you been trying and how many calories are you eating?
  6. Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I hope you all have a wonderful stress free day!
  7. Yeah you are OK. It just takes time for your body to heal. Congrats on your surgery!
  8. Sorry you are having trouble. First of all you do not want to be full. If you are full you have eaten too much. For me learning what it feels like to be satisfied is often a work in progress and I am four years out. I find the best thing for me is to measure my food so I know when to stop. Trust me it does get better. Try to keep yourself busy after you eat and remember it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register the food you have eaten. Sometimes I take a five minute break half way through a meal especially if I am really hungry starting off. Hang in there.
  9. I do not remember a poking feeling but sometimes my port is sore from sleeping on it.
  10. oh wow you seriously do not see? Put the first and the last next to each other and look again. You will notice. I do that a lot when looking at pics. Great job!!
  11. Ok. So the more I lose the more wrinkles appear on my face and neck. This is very upsetting to me. I do not have anyone to talk to about this so I am asking you all for advice. I also do not have very much money. I would really appreciate some suggestions. Thank you in advance.
  12. If you friend me on Facebook at Hely lb I can add you.
  13. I agree with your point but I never cooked until recently. At least not healthy. Tha is why I enjoy hosting the recipe group. I learn so much looking through them and also sharing ideas with others. I try to stay away from processed foods now. Before that is mostly what I ate. My mother way back when did not cook very healthy and I have had no one to teach me.

  17. Per mine I drink up to meal time then 60 minutes after. If i drink too soon my meals want to come back up. Congrats on your surgery!
  18. I have been banded for 4 years and just got back on track end of October. You can do it and you are doing it the right way checking your band and seeing about a small fill Don't forget to get a copy of your doctor's guidelines. I also found it very helpful to track a couple weeks of eating and then take it to a nutritionist that works with your doctor. Making the choice to change is a great decision. Leave all the guilt behind and start fresh. You are not a failure and you will do great! We got your back!!
  19. I have never gotten stuck from quinoa. It is much smaller then rice.
  20. Hungry girl has a website check it out.
  21. I was told to use measuring cups and not a scale. Saying that I bought a small scale to measure my nut/seed/fruit mix and my granolas. They are things that dont fit easy in measuring cup and I don't want to eat more then a portion. I will say you start out exactly doing what doctor says but little by little you end up tailoring to you and your lifestyle. So I agree do what works for you.
  22. Please be careful not to fall asleep with heating pad on. I have seen someone with serious burns from that. Hope you feel better .
