  1. This is the first time I have gone through my clothes since I began my journey. A friend of my mom's daughter has been running clothes and items up to NY and NJ so I decided to donate all my big clothes. It is a shame no one talks about them anymore but truth is a lot of people are really hurting and I am happy to donate my clothes. I absolutely did not even know that I had so much..
  2. I would be interested in the tops and jeans. Do you have any pics and what would you want for them? You can fb me at hely lb
  3. I find with me the key to eating anything lies in how it is cooked. If there is sauce etc. I have tons of recipes on Facebook recipe group. Included But not limited to seafood, chicken crockpot, skillet meals etc. if you are looking for something I don't have I am happy to find it for you. It is not a support group and I do it because I learn from looking at recipes and different links . I really enjoy it. If anyone wants to join just friend me at Hely lb. Also here is one way I cook either tilapia or chicken. I sautée frozen mixed peppers, frozen chopped onions and garlic then add 1 chicken breast or 1 tilapia filet. I chop the tilapia up as I cook it. I then add 1 or 2 tbls lachoy sesame ginger sauce or teriyaki sauce. It is important to measure because of the sodium content. This makes me two half cup servings .
  4. Draven you rock ! I also second what you wrote!
  5. I respect your decision to go raw/vegetarian however the band is meant to work with solids and I fear the juices are not going to keep you satisfied. I am also concerned about your protein intake. Maybe you can find some compromise with your diet. If you decide to go vegetarian I have a folder of recipes in my recipe group. Some are easy crock pot recipes. Feel free to friend me on Face book at hely lb. I have another member wanting to do vegetarian so will be adding more recipes to folder. You can message me with a list of things you like and I will find you some recipes to match. Best of Luck. Helen
  6. Well I have always thought it sucks that my food gets cold before I finish but that is what happens when you eat correctly. When I put fish in microwave to reheat I usually sprinkle a little bit of water on it first.
  7. I never had any problems with medications. I just took them one by one and waited a few minutes in between. Also if it was me, I would check with pharmacist to make sure all the pills can be crushed.
  8. i honestly usually drink 40 plus ounces before I get out of bed in the morning. I make sure to fill bottles before I got to bed. I would not expect anyone else to do that but if I dont get my water in I really notice and increase in hunger. When I am hungry and its not a meal time I drink and then if still hungry have a smart snack.
  9. I started back end of October. I just asked my doctor for a copy of his guidelines and followed exactly what he said to do. I measure everything, track and drink lots and lots of water. I was very strict for a few months but now I have been able to tailor my diet more to what my body needs. I often try new more healthier choices. Best of Luck. I sincerely believe if I can do this anyone can. It all goes back to the want power. How bad do you want it?? You can do it.
  10. Sorry I hate the word restriction. http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html
  11. I am 4 years out and my stomach still gurgles. Also have some patience and let your body heal. Your family loves you and hopefully they will support you. The m ore you move (walk) the better you will be. Stay strong!
  12. This thread is proof of how great the forum can be.
  13. I am sure there are other doctors in your area who would be happy to take your money.
  14. I am sure your doctor has an emergency number and someone on call. Your best bet is to call them. The place you describe is where my port is.
  15. It might be the food choices you are making as well as the amount. Maybe you can post some of the meals you have been eating and people can see if they have suggestions for you. Also are you drinking 64 oz of water? That also contributes to feeling satisfied.
  16. Probably will be ok but if you are concerned the best thing to do is call your doctor. Hope you feel better soon!
  17. I measure out three half cup Meals but I foot count calories. I do count protein and sodium.
  18. I eat the same things I eat at other times of the day.
  19. I have also heard some people strain it. I was allowed to blend and it saved me but don't change anything without checking with doctor first.
  20. Hell UVA is not really that far from you. At most three hours. Keep us posted.
  21. This is just my opinion, but if you are having this much trouble now and you cannot even find a dr? You may want to rethink your options. It is just as important if not more to have excellent aftercare. Lots of us have done very well with just the band. You get what you give and seems you might think placating is a short cut. Maybe rethink!
  22. I actually made a paste with pb2 lil sweetener lil salt and lil water then mixed in some granola. I also had some on rice crackers!!!!
  23. Grat job! Sometimes your body needs to catch up. It is a really good thing to keep track of your measurements!
  24. It all sounds so exciting to me! Best of luck to you all!
