  1. My experience was about month 3... but had to give myself a stern talking to. I have found other things to occupy my thoughts and exercising much as it pains me to say, does help...cuz the damn endorphins really do kick in.
  2. If you are taking a cooler throw in some baby bel lights or string cheese. Portable and easy to eat on the go. Have a safe trip.
  3. welcome to the boards... you will find a wealth of information here!!
  4. Kaylee, You are one of my favorite people to see post on here... you just tell it like it is. Seriously yes we are all adults... but make the right decision for once. Smoking killed my dad... just like obesity would have killed me had I not had surgery.
  5. I tried walnuts but they seemed greasy to me... almonds chew up really good and go down well... agreeing with those above
  6. Everyone goes thru this stage. You know what you have to do... now is the time to do it. Choke down that protein shake first thing in the morning... get in that 35 grams or so to start your day.. then plan on eating a little something every 2 hours til you can get all the protein in. Baby bel lights go down easy... 6 grams of protein.. laughing cow cheese.. I think 5 or 6 grams per wedge.. goes down super easy. You can do this... I have faith in you. Its mind over matter. You will succeed!!! Oh and take your vitimans.. If you exercise it will increase your energy levels. You got this girlie!!!!
  7. well said. I hope you get your approval soon!!!!!!
  8. Good luck today. Best wishes for a speedy recovery
  9. congrats and welcome to the boards!!!
  10. You guys got this. If your doctor says not to move on to the soft stage until a certain date then dont do it. You are still healing inside there and you dont want to comprimise the healing process. The mind makes you feel like you want realy food but when you eventually get it you wont be able to eat very much. Try finding something now to turn your addiction to food from. It will help you in the long run.
  11. choosing surgery is choosing a better way of life. Not just for you but for your family. You feel so much better then you can ever imagine. Dont know your stats but my weight loss has given me a better quality of life. Dont get me wrong... there are trials ahead... this is not an easy thing to do to your body... but for me personally I wouldnt change a thing. Good luck and keep us posted on how things are going.
  12. I have seen several people on hear on the same journey as you.. going from band to rny. You will find alot of support here. Good luck tomorrow
  13. usually reserve pouch space for protein... but have ventured and had grapes on occassion with no problem.. probably started at 3 months out.
  14. lol... love the pic but that's how it is now ...Hope you had a great day!!
  15. I feel very fortunate that my husband took the first week off. I had a hard time getting up from the sitting position for the at least first 5 days. I was in so much pain. After that first week I was good to go.
  16. Oh honey Im so sorry.... hugs and prayers your way
  17. I have heard up to 18 months but not sure... everyone is different and it will certainly slow down once you get close to your goal weight
  18. comfy pair of sweats and a big shirt to go home in. Wishing you well on your surgery.... Its gonna be the start of something GREAT!!!
  19. Well congrats on the impending birth!!!

  21. sounds like you are doing everything right... are you drinking all your water?? Im heading towards onederland too... I'll meet you there
  22. I dont count calories just grams of protein. When I put it in My fitness pal I usually average around 800-900.
  23. You are doing great for 2 weeks post op. Keep it up!!
  24. Jess I promise it does get better!!! Just hang in there and follow the program. It is tough to go through this. Its almost like a drug addict or alcoholic giving up drugs and alcohol... we have to detox ourselves away from the one thing that made us fat!! In 2 weeks you will notice a huge difference. Just keep taking your Vitamins... walking , drinking and getting Protein in no matter what. I had to switch to a plain Protein Drink.. that I add to my milk because the taste of all the ones I tried was so sweeeeeet... still to this day makes me want to gag!! Hugs your way!!
  25. Ignorant people abound!!! In one ear and out the other... they are not worth your time or energy
